  1. When I spoke to Kate she said they interview until they have reached the maximum they accept. So even though you could apply up to like July, if by May they reach their capacity then they stop interviewing. I am not sure if it's like FIU that they accept 100 or if they accept 200. I'm not really sure but I don't think its over 200. You can always call the admissions though. Hopefully he gets in! Good luck
  2. Hey everyone! I created a thread for those who are going to the Miami campus and are planning to apply to the Baptist scholarship so that we're able to help each other out: https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-discussion/bhsf-scholarship-nova-1150794.html
  3. Hi everyone! I made this thread specifically for students who got accepted to NOVA Miami campus for fall 2018. I am hoping we can all share our process with the application with the Baptist Scholarship and our onboarding process.
  4. Hi adiazz! Congrats on your acceptance! I also called Kate today after interviewing the 20th and I got in as well!
  5. They don't conduct interviews, right? It's just you send an application and wait for a response?
  6. Hi Leo! Congrats on your acceptance!! How did you find out? If you called can you mind sharing who you called and what you asked?
  7. Hi everyone! I had my interview on the 20th at the Miami campus and just wanted to give you guys a recap of how it went to help you all out. When I signed up I got an email telling me to go to PAC 334. DO NOT GO THERE!!! I made the mistake of heading over to that room and no ones was there! It wasn't until I basically ran to the main building and security sent me to another room. The PAC 334 ended up being the room we would be tested in later on. First, we were spoken to about what our day would be like, then we were given a tour of a campus. Afterwards, we were taken to the PAC building to take the Kaplan. Now, I can't really decide which was harder, TEAS or Kaplan, but I did decide that they were just completely different. The math was the easiest portion. A lot easier than the Math section of the TEAS. The reading was okay, it was just story after story which got a little annoying and hard to concentrate on. The Writing (English portion in the TEAS) was the one I hated the most. Unlike the TEAS, the Kaplan would give stories and ask questions like "which sentence should the following sentence go after", you had to constantly be reading the passages over and over because it only asked questions based off of different sentences. I personally liked the English portion in the TEAS a lot more as I felt it provided more variety of questions. Now, the science portion,The only the I liked about this section is that it didn't ask about chemistry. However, I found the questions to be pretty difficult. I did a lot worse than on the TEAS so I feel a bit indifferent about it. My suggestion is study and go over anything and everything about anatomy and physiology as there really isn't ONE thing you should focus on. Overall I scored a 71% on the test. The exam is self timed. You have almost 3 hours for a 91 question test. Whenever you're done you're free to go until you have to meet again in the main building to write an essay. You're given 30 minutes to complete the essay and it's written on paper, not a computer. After that, the program director came in to give information and answer any questions we may have had. Following that, we were introduced to some professors that would be conducting the interviews. It was a total of 6 people interviewing, split into groups of 2. So, there was 3 interviews going on at the same time. The interview was extremely quick for me consisting of mostly scenario questions. Like said before, what we would do if someone was cheating, if someone was talking badly on social media of your fellow classmates, what we thought was the role of a nurse etc. I was there from 8:30-3 Now, I am just waiting to hear back from NOVA and the days feel like years. Good luck to everyone applying! I hope we all get in!!!
  8. Hey! Has anyone applied yet or heard any news?
