  1. Maybe Im crazy and I certainly dont want to offend any one, but I myself personal opinion would not go to louisville, unless you have lived there or close to it for a while. I am in the rural area of KY and I just cant help but wonder if the crime rate is really bad and thinking of the danger of just working in that area. I dont know theres something about that place and Ive been there before, it just screams dangerto me, and I dont know why.
  2. I have considered going agency but I really dont know where to go to apply do you have any suggestions. I know that all the agency nurses that Ive worked with in the past were good nurses and very good nurses and when they got tired of the crap they wouldnt come back until things cooled down. I think maybe I will, thanks for the advice. Gail LPN
  3. DON's who come on the floor and ask you what you are doing!!! Im like working my tale off here, cant get so and so's IV can you try? DON: how does this thing work?
  4. RN's who come in 2 hours late and say that they dont have time they need to put on their 5 layers of turqoise eyeshadow.
  5. Old nurses that talk about young nurses and cant even see how to start an I.V.
  6. Hello, I've been an LPN for four years and I need some advice. Im in the eastern KY area and I am almost terrified to get a job. I recently quit a Nursing home job. The place was just terrible, the staff was the main problem and the nurse manager on my floor and the DON were just plain disrespectful. I was really loving my job until this Ex military RN tried to make everyones life a living #*!!. But any way since I quit nurses that have been there for years have quit. The place is staffed mainly by agency nurses simply because they cant keep any one. I cant understand why the two trouble makers that was everyones problem are still there. I heard that one of them even had to go to classes to learn how to get along with other employees. I just feel short changed and for months I have put the blame on myself but I know that I put 100% into my work and I wittnessed some crap out of the two trouble makers Is there any justice and is it going to be like this everywhere that I go. Have any of you had this problem. All I know is that it seems like the harder I bust my @$$ the harder everything goes against me. I love nursing but I cant stand a @hole for a nurse manager or DON... it looks like if they really wanted people to stay they would treat them better. I was there eight months and didnt even get a raise, anyway I wish I had my job back and the trouble makers out of there. My problem is that I didnt get any evidence of this, I was just to recessive and tried to stay out of it, but then it got to where I couldnt stand it any longer and I made sure that I was covered and left. Everyone there knows what went on and its just unjustified. Thanks A disgusted Nurse Considering new Career path
  7. Tell me about it. Ive been an LPN for four years and I am very seriously thinking about not ever working as a nurse again, because of the way that other RN's have acted toward me. Is it like that everywhere you go, or are nursing Homes just worse than other places? I just feel like its because I'm and LPN and young and the older nurses sometimes try to put me down or make me feel like a loser. Yes I do work circles around them its like they can't stand it... I became an LPN when I was 19. It also seems like the older LPN's dont have this problem. I hate it when some one calls me a Kid on the job I could just tell them a mouth full but instead I just keep quiet. I know that my work is good because I've seen the patient improvement and so have the family members and people that are above me on the chain of command. :chair: What can I do to stop the MADNESS!!!!
