  1. Well I am currently in this area but I can MOVE
  2. Drexel charges 1000 per credit hour with 56 credit hours. That is around 60k which I do not want to spend, to be honest. Already I am doing Accelerated BSN which is costing me an arm and leg. Thanks for the information though
  3. I chose nursing track over the PA route because of more independence as Nurse Practitioner down the road. I am in the New Jersey area.
  4. Thank you all for nice feedback and bits of advice. @Cococure. I think most of the online schools do not provide preceptors and its student's responsibility to find one. If you know any such school, please share. Thanks
  5. I am not asking about ivy league schools but does the name and reputation of school matter for a job? I have a medical degree from abroad with more than 5-year family physician experience. Currently in an accelerated BSN program. My question is whether doing MSN NP from an accredited online school( aka Chamberlain level schools) should do or should I get into any brick and mortar school? Honest opinion needed
  6. @umbdude You are right. I was not trying to be harsh, just asked. So far I have a GPA of 3.5 in two semesters, but in the current semester, I am struggling to get even 3.0. I believe I can eventually get 3.2 plus minimum after I am done with the program ( 2 semesters to go). Moreover, Do you think top NP programs should be a priority? I thought that any CCNE program is good as long as you have the basics, especially with my previous healthcare experience
  7. @umbdude So You are saying difficulty level of ABSN program is the same as the regular bachelor? Come on, dude...
  8. I was a foreign physician in past life. Will that help or boost my application?
  9. This is ridiculous. I have some of my friends in other schools who do open book exams and get a higher GPA than me though I know a lot more than them. ( My exams are on site and no open book)
  10. Well, I am in an accelerated bachelor program that is 16 months long. So far I am maintaining a 3.2 GPA with my maximum effort. But I think it will not take me anywhere as I intend to go towards NP. I am taking 6 classes per semester. My question is that do NP schools consider the difficulty levels of ABSN while comparing GPA? I have heard from somewhere that it is approximately 0.2 margin of GPA when masters programs consider the application. Is this true? I hope they do because BSN programs are really hard considering the amount of material in a very short period of time.
  11. I never saw a nurse practitioner job with more than 140k max except psychiatry. I am talking of base salary though, not overtime or other job
  12. Thanks for reply. But it is very subjective answer?
  13. Hello guys. I am curious about the salary ranges. If you see salary ranges in jobs websites like 110k-140k , can any one tell how many years it takes for a practitioner to max out (reach 140k) ?
  14. Hello Susanive Welcome to Utica ABSN.I am also attending Liverpool Fall 2018.You can pm me
  15. I believe that to pass or fail is in the hands of students.Accelerated means Fast paced.I have not seen any college which has good reviews in this forum for an accelerated BSN.So my advice is to work hard and succeed through.
