  1. Hi all! I don't think I've ever made a post in this thread, but I wish everyone the best of luck! My statistics: Overall GPA: 3.92 Pre-req GPA: 4.00 I'm quite nervous the nursing classes will be difficult... I've always had the mindset that I need A's, but right now I'm just hoping that I'll pass!
  2. Hi guys! I'm going to be applying for the Fall of 2018 for a spot at Plant City. I made it to the interviews at USF (Tampa), but got rejected with a 3.9 overall GPA, a 4.0 pre-req GPA, and an 83 on the TEAS test. Their loss, I suppose! Hopefully, we all have great chances at making it in to HCC.
  3. Has anyone not gotten their decision yet? I checked my SOAR and USF email, and there's nothing.
  4. Fingers crossed! I'm super nervous about when the email will come in, but hopefully we all made it in!
  5. There's multiple numbers. Which number? I'm guessing the 100 accepted applicants? This was revealed at one of the Stampede Into Bull Nursing meetings, I believe. Either that or it was from a chat with my advisor. This number was specific to Upper Division. Not sure about 2nd degree.
  6. No, they usually accept 80 per year. Last year, around 150 got interviews because on the USF Nursing statistics page, 25% of the 606 eligible applicants got interviews. They told me they're accepting 100 this year (I think due to a change in their nursing application, and how they no longer do the essay portion) so I think there was an even higher number of interviewees this year (maybe ~170?). The statistics page for 2017 is here: Undergraduate Nursing Admission Statistics - College of Nursing - USF Health IS Documentation System
  7. Maybe some of those with high GPA's aren't prenursing students at USF? Maybe they have misconduct shown on their records? It sounds odd they would be denied if the selection of interviewers if based purely off of GPA... I think the average GPA this year will drop a bit due to them taking in more people.
  8. I think each question is scored on a scale from 1-5, then they add up those points and accept the highest scorers. By the way, the interview wasn't too bad for me! The interviewers were much nicer and more relaxed than I thought, and it took about 15 minutes for me to answer everything.
  9. Good luck everyone! Mine's tomorrow and I'm super nervous, but I think I'm well-prepared enough. Let us know how ya'll's interviews went!
  10. Yes, you're correct - next Friday is when we will find out!
  11. Jezabella, I got an interview too!!! I also scheduled for Tuesday, March 20 at 1:30 :) Maybe we'll see each other? I'm incredibly nervous, but keep practicing! Congrats to all that got an interview, and I wish the best of luck to those who have to choose an alternate path.
  12. Ann, I have not received an email yet. Yesterday was the 9th, so I'm guessing according to pizzagirl123, we'll get an email on the 12th (upcoming Monday). Good luck! :)
  13. Kaylightning, I'm also a transfer student and am finishing up my last prerequisite (Microbio) this spring at USF. :) I'm confident you'll make it in if you practice! The earlier, the better, too.
  14. Danielle, when did you apply for the program?
  15. Yeah, me too. The other personal questions I can easily answer, but the ethical dilemmas get me pretty nervous. I'm afraid I won't know the answer to some and will sit there awkwardly on the spot...
  16. The average GPA for admitted nursing students in 2017 at USF was a 3.85. You're slightly below average, but nothing you can't make up for if you get an interview! My current whole GPA is a 3.9 with a prerequisite GPA of a 4.0.
  17. I've only applied to USF and HCC (Hillsborough Community College at Dale Mabry). HCC will be my secondary choice if USF denies me, although I hope to make it in to USF that way I can graduate in 2 years and not 3 with the HCC-USF concurrent nursing program.
  18. It's nice to meet you, Belfanm2! Keep up with the good prerequisite GPA since that is what they look at first. :)
  19. I've seen this also -- but I'm interested in the current applicants' statistics.
  20. Hi, guys! I've been looking around for a thread for University of South Florida's nursing program for this upcoming fall and haven't found one, so here's this. :) Has anyone already submitted their application like me? And like other threads, I'm curious about other applicants' GPA's, so if we don't mind sharing them, that would be helpful! My pre-req GPA is currently a 4.0, and whole GPA is a 3.9. Also, is it true that the nursing program has a "requirement" of how many of each ethnicity they need to accept? I was informed by a student that if you're non-white, you have a better chance of getting in because they need to have diversity...
