  1. It is live! Search Rush GEM Cohort 24 and ask to join! Look forward to meeting everyone!
  2. Still need a friend on facebook to make the account. If someone who has been accepted to the program wants to add me as a friend on fb, that'd be awesome. Here is the link. facebook.com/lauren.mcintosh89
  3. I got it. Did my reply come through?
  4. I think if you click on my name (above post) it should give you option to PM me.
  5. Looks like to make the group I have to add at least one friend. Could you send me a PM with your facebook info so I can add you to get the group started?
  6. Would anyone here be interested? I can set it up or if someone else wants to, that is great too.
  7. I see for past cohorts FB groups were set up. Is that done by the school or is that done by the students?
  8. Hmm, okay stats. Bachelor of Science: Criminal Justice and Psychology Degree GPA - 3.3 Prereqs - 3.5 I worked 3 years as a CNA, 1 year as a chiropractic aide, 2 years managing a chiropractic office, and 1 year managing a stem cell therapy clinic. Volunteer work; 6 months in a pediatric oncology ward doing crafts and activities with patients, 1 year overseas in Madagascar (teaching English, working in a women's prison, assisting with a medical clinic to isolated villages), 1 year as an advocate for a sex trafficking hotline, 1 year as a domestic violence counselor for the LAPD. References: A & P professor, Emergency services coordinator from when I was domestic violence counselor, Doctor I worked with at the chiropractic office. In my interview I stressed my commitment to and passion for community outreach and service. And laid out my longterm goal of working(as a nurse) for Doctors Without Borders. Still can't believe I got in. I thought my GPA would be too low.
  9. I believe at the first look they said last fall they ended up going 40 deep (someone correct me if i'm wrong) which was higher than normal. I think they said for fall usually 15-30 or something like that. Best of luck to you!
  10. Definitely hope! Based on what Molly said at First Look it seems very likely you will get in! Fingers crossed!
  11. Just got accepted! Check your email!
  12. Same! I only got a few hours.
  13. I know! I am so excited/anxious! Best of luck to everyone!
  14. Based on posts I have read from previous cohorts, I believe the financial aid email is sent to all applicants. I think in the previous forum they called and asked admissions about the financial aid email and were told it is sent out to applicants who are still being considered.
  15. I agree - does seem odd. But if that were the case you would think they would send it to everyone. I don't know. I am going to try and stop analyzing it and wait as patiently as I can for Friday. I will definitely post when I hear anything (positive or not). I also think it would be nice to post about the process etc for the next group of applicants. I definitely found it helpful reading posts from past cohorts.
  16. Just got this reply to my email: "In the effort of time, the University verifies mailing addresses for applicants. This is done to assure that if accepted, the letter referenced in the email below is received within 10 business days. Please keep in mind, official decisions will be emailed on Friday."
  17. Fingers crossed for you!!!
  18. I emailed them back and asked if this was an indication of admittance, I don't really expect a response, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask. Just as I had convinced myself not to get my hopes up, now they are sky high again!
  19. Okay, so I just got an email from Rush saying I will be receiving a very important letter in the mail in a couple of days. Also said, "Included in the letter will be your username and password for the University Portal and information about accessing your Rush email account." Kind of freaking out, making me think maybe I got accepted, or do they send this to everyone who got interviewed?
  20. My plan is to not work the first semester and then see how I feel. By the 3rd semester I plan on working (not much just like a shift or two on the weekend) as a nursing assistant. Good way to get a foot in the door at a local hospital. How about you, planning on working?
  21. I did the same thing. Didn't want to lose my spot if I don't get into Rush, which is my top choice. Is it Friday yet?? :)
  22. Definitely eager to get the decision! Have you applied/been accepted anywhere else?
