  1. Oh no!! That’s concerning ? I also applied for ICU step down as well. I’m just at a loss! I have 5 years’ experience in Med/Surg, ER, and ICU... Externship, completed ACLS already, and actively involved in multiple nursing organizations. I’m wondering if they just didn’t like the way I interviewed, or if it was a personality clash, or what ☹️ I felt like a strong candidate going in and thought the interview went really well! Kinda feel like a terrible candidate now though LOL
  2. Ooooh OK. That’s understandable. Thank you. Then I’ll just hold off on contacting her again for a bit.
  3. I’m jealous you guys are hearing back! I emailed the recruiter requesting feedback on my interview & application process to get a better idea on what I can work on to make it into the ICU during the next hiring cohort. After hearing nothing (despite two emails) I finally messaged the manager on LinkedIn directly to see if they could share some feedback, and simply received a message back to “check with the recruiter.” Not gonna lie.... super frustrating process. I am at a total loss as to what it is that failed to land me a spot. Anywhere, for that matter! Grrrrrrrrr
  4. Hi everyone! I finally received my rejection letter from the MICU, and have not received any offers for Med/Surg departments. I went ahead and emailed the nurse residency recruiter to inquire as to what it is that I need to improve/work on for future success. I’ll be reapplying next cohort to see if I can make it in then! In the meantime, CONGRATS again everyone!! If anyone wants to keep me in mind for their departments let me know ?
  5. OH! To add to that, did your guys' application status change on the portal? I know I asked before but don't think anyone answered back on that. Mine still says "Interviewing," and I wasn't sure if it'll change if they decide to/not to extend an offer.
  6. CONGRATS! That is awesome! I interviewed for the MICU too but unfortunately don't think I'll be receiving an offer, as everyone's already heard back and secured their spots! Please think of me in the future hahahahaha. I'm going to simply reapply this Winter, fingers crossed!
  7. I totally get that. I feel where you're coming from. Things to take into consideration: cardiac telemetry would be great for basics (since you're aiming for CVICU), and once you're in on that position, you're an internal candidate for Grady... thus higher preference for consideration for future positions that open up. Could reapply for the Winter RN residency cohort for CVICU and by then not only have experience on cardiac floor, you'll have about 6 months experience AND be an internal candidate. I'd say the odds would be in your favor. Worse comes to worst you don't get to transfer in 6 months? Then go ahead and apply to other hospitals for their ICUs and say PEACE!! LOL. I still haven't been offered nada. I wonder if they'd even reach out to offer me Med/Surg. I also wonder if I'll be in my grave by the time they email me back LOL.
  8. Ah OK, thank you for responding!!
  9. I wish I had even heard something back LOL. But I haven't heard anyone from MICU (who I'm waiting on) even state they received an official offer, yet. It really seems like the hiring process moves sloooowwwwww. EDIT: has any of your guys' application statuses changed? Mine still says "interviewing".
  10. I wish I had even heard something back LOL. But I haven't heard anyone from MICU (who I'm waiting on) even state they received an official offer, yet. It really seems like the hiring process moves sloooowwwwww.
  11. Awesome sauce. CONGRATS again, that is so awesome! Not gonna lie, I'm envious!!
  12. Does it come through the same person who oversees the nursing residency (we can't put names on this site, so I have to word it like that LOL)? Or did it come from the managers of the unit, themselves? Edit: and CONGRATS! That is so exciting!
  13. CONGRATS! Wait are they sending them out this late in the afternoon? I wonder how late they'll be rolling out! I still haven't received an official rejection letter yet from MICU! I wish they'd just let me knooowwwwwww LOL.
  14. CONGRATS!!!!! OMG that is awesome!!! Go and celebrate!
  15. OMG! CONGRATS!! That is awesome!!! ? Haha. I'm pretty certain I'll be receiving a rejection from the MICU unfortunately! I'm just still holding out to receive an official email from them - hoping for today. And I'm totally OK with it, as I'm open to just working the floor for a while until I can transfer. Just hate the anticipation LOL.
  16. Ummmmmmm LOL?! I just received an email stating that I did not receive an offer for the Emergency Department? I mean, thank goodness??? Because I never applied, nor interviewed with them??? LOL. Can someone tell me if this was a total mistake and just a mass message for everyone? I am so confused LOL.
  17. So has anyone received an official offer? I know some people said they called back about the 15 minute interview to discuss the results of their interview, but from my understanding no one has actually said they were contacted and told “Congratulations, we would like to extend an offer for... [blah blah blah]!”
  18. That sounds good then. That lets me know they passed me up as a candidate, which is OK! I can always try again in the future! Thank you! Hopefully a spot opens up with time and you get in.
  19. Oh! Were any of you guys interviewing for MICU, btw?
  20. Ooh OK. That still sounds good to me, though! If you can wait it out, I would do so! and I just checked my spam folder, but nada. That’s OK though! I’ll still give them time to send either a formal acceptance or rejection letter before I make my next move.
  21. Wait, I’m so confused! What is alternate list exactly?
  22. Nooooo ? LOL I’m chopped liver over here! I’m assuming I’m receiving no offer at all since I haven’t heard anything back.
  23. I am so sorry ? Let me know if you want someone to talk or vent to... I'll be around just checking my emails and doing some online work these next couple of days. I recently received the rejection to what I thought was my dream job, too - at my own hospital! I called HR to inquire what it was that failed to land me a spot, and it turned out that I was actually given the thumbs-up from everyone who interviewed me (peer interview). They wanted me in. Just turns out that there were only 5 spots available, and two of those spots went to the technicians already working in that unit. So technically only 3 spots. They had a huge influx of already-ICU-experienced RNs apply and decided it was best to go with people who already had experience, rather than new grads. The manager emailed me and asked me to keep reaching out to her, and she'd get me in as soon as possible. It still stung like h*** though, not going to lie. I'd reach out to HR when you're feeling up to it. Simply ask if there is anything in particular you can work on to better improve yourself as a future applicant to the department again. Chances are that they'll simply state they had people with experience apply, and that it had nothing to actually do with you! It sounds like you genuinely interviewed well. Everyday is a chance to improve ourselves and make a comeback from the worst setbacks in our life. It's OK to break down and cry, just as long as you remember to pick yourself back up again. You'll be in ICU eventually. Frustrating that it'll take longer, sure. And again, it's OK to be upset. I'm thinking about you chica. Keep your head up.
  24. Awesome! That is excellent news for those who received the email, then. I’m sad I wasn’t one of them! Thank you for sharing this info! It is definitely appreciated. By no means do you have to answer - but can I ask which dept it was for?
