Well said!

My apologies to the nursing profession
I can't believe that any nurse can deny that bullying in nursing is not rampant. Bullying is not about eating lunch alone. It's about tactics that isolate, exclude, intimidate, belittle, and discredit ones peers. If you have failed to recognize that this happens among nurses because it hasn't happened to you- shame on you! So often people turn their backs on targets so as not to attract negative attention to themselves. It takes backbone, character, and integrity to take a stand against nurses who bully. There have been many studies done about bullying among nurses. Can't say I've seen similar studies done on any other profession, say like accountants. This is a dysfunction particular to nursing. I think nurses need to initiate a grassroots movement to stop bullying just as has been done among school kids.

My apologies to the nursing profession
There are environments in nursing where staff are permitted to abuse and bully without recrimination. If you complain about it the problem is YOU. I believe there are nurses who may actually develop PTSD after being subjected to prolonged abuse and bullying from their nurse peers. Lateral violence among nurses is very very common. It's ignorant and it sickens me.

Misconduct
I don't deny I made an error but "gross misconduct "?
-
Misconduct
You've perfectly described a system with a high degree of error risk.

Misconduct
I haven't been at this place for 35 years. I've been a nurse for 35 years.

Misconduct
I could only speculate. Nothing I know of for sure.

Misconduct
In addition to the injustice of this situation, I feel slandered as well.

Misconduct
That is my point exactly.

Misconduct
I was denied unemployment because they determined I was in violation of the company's misconduct policy which I have never seen and didn't know existed. The word misconduct was never bought up until the employer contested my unemployment claim.

Misconduct
The MARS come from the pharmacy but were incredibly inaccurate every month. New orders were never on the MARS- it took a couple months or more. I accidentally omitted a seizure medication and consequently the medication was not given. The pt had a seizure after not receiving the medication for approximately 10 days. He was treated in the ER, given a loading dose of Depakene, treated and released. I had never received any kind of disciplinary action prior to this. It was simply human error. I've been a nurse for 35 years and never had any issue like this in 35 years.

Misconduct
Has anyone ever heard of a nurse being terminated for gross misconduct after accidentally omitting an entry when transcribing MARs from one month to the next?
