  1. Hello Everyone, I wonder if you could help. In our same day surgery we have been having a lot of cancellations delays and issues with patients not complying with instructions etc. Examples include: no ride, NPO violations, BP meds and blood thinners, no pre-reg, no one to take them home or give discharge instructions to. etc. The usual things right? I've talked to a few folks that work in places that have a care contract that sets out very clear SDS expectations of the patient, and explains if the patients don't comply then the may be cancelled. Do any of y'all have experience with patient contracts or examples you could share with me. Thanks
  2. The 2016 AORN Standards on Flexible Endoscopes, Recommendation VII " Flexible endoscopes, accessories, and associated equipment should be visually inspected for cleanliness, integrity, and function before use, during the procedure, after the procedure, after cleaning and before disinfection or sterilization." The SGNA statements to do with RN delineation and supervision imply and the documentation standards imply checking the scopes pre-procedure. Checking equipment is a normal part of this person's job and done everywhere I have ever worked.
  3. I am in the same boat. I have lived in the USA since 1993 and have lost contact with all my old nursing Pals. I live and work in East Arkansas. Is there anyone who can help with my reflective discussion? I can Skype or WhatsApp. Thanks Guys
