My portal was updated to denied today. I'm happy for those of you that were admitted, I know you worked super hard to get there. I'm not sure what else I could have done to get in. My HESI was 96, my GPA is 3.74 in Nursing Prereqs, 3.86 in Science.

Congrats everyone! It looks like I'm going to have to keep up with my day job because I was not accepted in the portal but I'm happy that this cohort is so awesome! Best of luck to those of you moving forward with the program!

Is anyone else still "Under Review"? I haven't had a status change at all. I'm going to wait another day then probably give the school a call to ask if they're still deliberating.

I'm still in the "no update" camp so I'm guessing that's it for my shot at Summer 2018. Unless someone thinks that they're doign this in waves?

DO IT! Go for what you want - it doesn't matter how old :) I'm not in the same (exact) boat, but I am 33 and completely changing careers and expect to be much older than my fellow classmates as well. I think the perspective and experience you'll bring to the classroom will be extremely valuable, not only to you but to your professors and classmates alike. Good luck!

Anyone read any good (non-school) books lately? I am reading The Broken Girls right now and it's good but creepy. I read The Martian in Jan and LOVED it (I know, I'm late to the party). This is my attempt at a distraction from the overarching main topic on the thread :).

While I hope to get into school, I've also been mentally preparing for the "What-if" of not getting in. I have all these pre-reqs that are totally geared toward nursing but...what else can we do with them? PT school? PA school? Anyone have any good suggestions?

Hey there! Do you have the HESI study guide that Elsevier puts out? If not, I really recommend that as a guide. It has a lot of questions in the same format as the test and it definitely helps with at least knowing what types of questions will be presented. The vocab section is pretty extensive and not all the words on the test are included but it is a good starting point. Also, doing the available tests online (Like tacor suggested) really helps as well.

Hi there! Yes, I think your application can be submitted before your HESI scores are sent; however, you'll need to complete the HESI scores and have them submitted by the deadline. Hope that helps!

Hi there, no. It should not mess up your application. As long as you have submitted the application and required documents by the deadline, the school will recognize that you still have pending work. Your acceptance would be contingent upon completion of your remaining school work, though.

Hi there! Aside from the schools you've mentioned, UofH has a program in the Houston area as well but they only offer one admissions cycle a year.

Does anyone know how long it typically takes for acceptances / waitlists / rejections to start rolling out?
