Yup! Cpt ATP is right. You can get whatever scrubs you want, and have them embroidered at Flag Tee Factory. I believe it cost $6 or maybe $8. You won’t use your scrubs until June so don’t stress about getting this done before you start.

@ama397 I would recommended the littman III! Several people in my program started out with really cheap — like $20 — stethoscopes and upgraded by the end haha. The quality of the stethoscope makes a huge difference. I have the littman cardiology IV and love it, but going above the III isn’t really necessary haha. ?

Hey all! I'm currently in this program and have several items that I'd be interested in selling to you guys or just giving away depending on the item. I have 2 embroidered scrub tops (size XXS.. they run pretty big, so for true comparison, I'm a 5'7 125lb female and they fit me great) and several books that we need throughout the year. Cost-wise, I'm in-state and the whole program cost me a bit under $25,000. Summer semester is the most expensive, it was about $13,000. The other two semesters were closer to $6,000. Clinical hours -- you will get plenty. We've had roughly 2 clinical days a week since June. The traditional program gets 1 clinical day a week. So I don't think we get any less clinical hours because of the accelerated pace of this program. I promise you will leave this program plenty hirable ?

Hi all! I'm currently in this program.. I remember being really nervous this time last year! So I wanted to offer any advice/answer questions if anyone has any :)

I wouldn't say it's particularly important as far as being accepted into the program goes. They look pretty exclusively at pre-req GPA and Kaplan score; how many pre-reqs you still have to complete also plays a factor if you have a lot.

@nursestu1986 So true! And I'm assuming you got in as well?! My stats -- 95 on Kaplan, 80 in science, 4.0 in pre-reqs, 1 class in progress. Would you mind sharing yours as well? :)

Me too! The anxiety is killer. The other day I got mail from NAU admissions and was beside myself excited... and then it was just my acceptance into NAU as a college, not the nursing program.

Has anyone heard anything? It's taking all of my willpower to not call them and ask about when we might hear haha

I was looking at past boards and in the years prior to last, they didn't find out until around Feb 18. I really hope it's earlier this year like it was a year ago

BrenMau, cool! I was just in Tucson a couple days ago (: I've been taking all my pre-reqs for the past year... I graduated in 2015. I have one more in progress this semester -- pathophysiology. So I'm not totally sure but I think they take off a point or maybe half a point for each class still IP from your total score. But I've read in past boards that people have had up to 3 classes still IP after application. Chelsal... They take 30 people each year. In past years there's been roughly ~130 applicants. And I used to live in LA! But in Phx now. What part of cali are you?

I don't know what they usually accept as far as the science portion goes though :/ I wish they would provide averages for accepted applicants or something. Oh well. Hopefully we don't have to wait too long to find out... My fingers are crossed for all of us! Do you guys live in the Flag area? I'm in Phoenix so it's not too far from me but I know a lot of people come from out of state.

This is my first time applying. I'm not sure how many times previously accepted applicants applied, but I think it really just depends on your scores. They really only take into account pre-req GPA, overall Kaplan score, Kaplan science score, and number of pre-reqs in progress. From what I've heard, those accepted have had GPA's above 3.6 or 3.7 and Kaplan 85+. Not sure about usual science section score? How'd everyone else do?

Thanks! Yeah it was weird. I expected the more general questions but some of them were so odd/specific, I never would have known to study for them. Oh well, glad it's over with. I hope we find out about being accepted or not soon! From creeping on past application cycles here, it looks like they found out in early February the past year or two... and mid/late Feb the years before that.

Hey no worries! I've heard good things about that program as well. Good luck to you!! The Kaplan wasn't particularly easy. I did well on it thank goodness, but honestly some of it was laughable. It was pretty badly written with numerous spelling errors and the like. Oh well, I'm glad it's over with! Have you taken the HESI yet? I am SO excited (and nervous)! And you?? :)
