College of New Rochelle Second Degree Nursing Class of 2019
From when i stepped foot in there it's been like that. It's like you have to teach yourself to get through the school. At times i think if you in a regular program where you have months vacation, you can learn before school reopens and i realised That after i had to repeat the class but then also people make it through the fast track so just make up your mind and let God help you because it isn't an easy thing to get yourself into. Let your passion be your motivation and you can do it. I relaxed way too much because i felt i knew it all or am smart. So it's like never underestimate any exams no matter how preparers you are till the semester is over. Make sure in every exam/quiz you get at least a 90%. This is the only way you can save yourself in case the final exam doesn't go well(since it's cumulative and like 18-40) , then the 90's you got earlier on the quizzes make up for you. The Hesi is difficult and now it's been switched to ATI which is far worse so make your 90'ss. I am talking from experience so don't relax at all

College of New Rochelle Second Degree Nursing Class of 2019
Yeah it is overwhelming and you have to learn on your own. Most prof read PowerPoints and the rest is up to you to find your way to pass. I am a very good student so i still couldn't believe i failed that class. It is very risky because everyone can fail. You need to solve a lot of questions too. It is no joke at all. I took like 7 classes with clinical inclusive. Nursing school isn't about how smart you are but who remembers what they learnt in the exams room. As i said you need to start learning before school reopens

College of New Rochelle Second Degree Nursing Class of 2019
So i was in the accelerated but failed a class by less than 1 point(clinical class) and had to retake it. For this i was moved from the accelerated program into the individualized program. I was in my 3rd seems out of the 5. So i was allowed to retake only the medsurg class in a semester with no other clinical class. If you fail twice, you get kicked out. You only have one chance of repeating a class in the entire program. You have to learn before school begins. Try and get a syllabus before school vacates just to have an upper hand. It is sad when instead of graduating in 2018, you get to graduate in 2019 because of a number less than 1.
