  1. Thank you so much for the response! Any advice in regards to the essay? Also, when it comes to the interview, what kind of questions are asked and what is their ideal candidate? I tend to prepare really well for interviews but my nerves often get in the way and I then short-suit myself and my accomplishments.
  2. I am so sorry for your loss. Losing someone special to you is never easy. My boyfriend's mother had battled cancer for 11 years and passed away in 2016. Being that we were only 18 when she passed, he was only seven when she was first diagnosed. My boyfriend and I had been friends since we were young but started dating in our senior year of high school, so she was important to me as well. It was so hard losing her but knowing that she was no longer in pain was comforting. My boyfriend, his family, and I took a trip out west to celebrate her life and visited several national parks. The Grand Canyon was our final stop where we sprinkled some of her ashes. It's been a year and a half and we still think about her regularly but somewhere along the way the thoughts shifted from mourning to remembering. It's a silent process but it does get easier in time. I wish you and your family many blessings and offer my sincere condolences.
  3. Hi everyone and thank you in advance for taking the time to read this. I have been accepted as a transfer to the University of South Florida but have not yet applied to their nursing school. I am really concerned with how competitive the program is and whether or not I measure up to their standards. I currently have a 3.76 Overall GPA and while it got me accepted into general admissions, I fear that it isn't high enough to get me into the nursing college. For feedback purposes, I have volunteered for several organizations, including: nursing homes, Manna Food Project, American Red Cross, and Tampa General Hospital. I doubt this will have any influence on my admissions but I have also been a lifeguard for 5 years now so I have experience with CPR and AED as well as some other practical skill certificates. My father is an alumni of USF so this school is currently my top choice. I would love and appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
