Organic Chemistry and General Bio
Sorry to say but you will need to get 2.8 in each pre req in order to be able to apply:/ sorry!
-
Organic Chemistry and General Bio
Everyvclass of the pre req are required to be 2.8 or higher so you won't be able to apply until that score is replaced
-
Organic Chemistry and General Bio
OU's program requires every pre tea to be at least 2.8 so you will have to retake it

I'm in the BSN program at OU right now. For ABSN, as long as you have 3.6 you should be all set. for Traditional BSN, you're looking at 3.8 for admission

Is it possible to get 4 4.0s this semester at Oakland University?
I am in OU's BSN program right now, OU has an odd grading scale once you're in the nursing program. Pre nursing, it is possible with the professors (they changed the profs after I got into the program) and now the grading scale has been inflated. BUT once in the nursing program the only way to get a 4.0 is to get 100% in the class which is impossible. 99% becomes automatic 3.9. Good luck!

For those of you working nights

For those of you working nights
Forgot to mention, they said they are willing to work with my school schedule. I will be the only Nurse Tech on the floor per shift. They even mentioned that Nurse techs are expensive to train and they have to make sure they picked the right person (to basically hire them once they graduate). Do you think Friday night is doable even though it's after my clinical?

Nurse extern into an ICU
That is also what I've been hearing, please keep me updated! I've been hearing that CVICU is a great unit but can be filled with novice nurses. I am glad that I get to be on a unit with full of experienced nurses that will train me to possibly hire me to that unit once I graduate!

For those of you working nights
Hi guys, I've recently been hired as a Nurse Tech at a large 1100 bed hospital into a Neuro-Trauma SICU. It will be part time nights and I am enrolled in a BSN program as a full time student. My schedule for a normal week is : M- class T- class W- empty Th- clinical F- clinical S- empty Su- church My question to those of you who are working nights, what nights should I work? Any tips on making my schedule very tight and well balanced? PS:I am used to working day shifts (once a week shift) and that I love to sleep lol Thanks!

How many schools did you apply to?
I have an interview coming up on the unit you used to work as a tech. If you could add me back, I'd love to ask a few questions. Thank you!

Nurse extern into an ICU
5 **** is a Surgical ICU in a Level 1 Trauma Center. 20 bed unit. Patient population includes: trauma, neurosurgery, GI surgery, vascular and thoracic surgery patients. This unit has invasive monitoring, ventilators, dialysis and ICP monitoring. These are the types of pt they get. Hey guys. I am about half way through my BSN program and I applied about a week ago and got the interview call yesterday. My interview is this upcoming Wednesday, is it true that CIVCU is preferred by most CRNA schools? Also, if they offer this position to me, should I take it instead of applying to CVICU? as a new grad getting into CVICU is very rare. Thanks

Question for people who were accepted into Oakland University's basic BSN program
Hi, I started OU's traditional BSN program about a year ago. OU's admission GPA has sky rocketed about 2 years ago. I got in with around 3.72 I believe. My science GPA comes out about 3.8-3.9 I believe. But only the pre req's matter for admissions. I graduated high school then went straight into pre nursing at OU. Although I did hear that OU prefers the students from school itself, but I also heard that they are changing that along with the grading scale. OU Nursing school's grading scale is brutal as well. Only way to get a 4.0 is to get 100%. Anything below will be something like 97.99%=3.8 etc.. So far I do like the program, especially the building since I don't have to go anywhere but that building. Also one thing I can say is that local hospitals love OU students lol. Currently working at one right now. Also I think I heard that for this Fall's application, there were around 300-400 people applying.. don't quote me for that though. Good luck!
