  1. I would also advise this student to contact the BRN. School curriculum is viewed and appproved by the board in order to be accredited. They may have an opinion on if this last minute curriculum change is allowed.
  2. Hi all!, I am a newer nurse with 6 months of experience on a floor I love with a team I love. However, it is night shifts and I am hating them. I feel like my entire life either revolves around when I will sleep or work. Its also wreaking havoc on my health. I sleep well between shifts, but still feel like a zombie all the time. My floor has little turn over so the prospects of a day shift on my unit may be a year or more and the thought depresses me. So do I try applying to other units and hospitals. Will employers look badly on me for moving so quickly?
  3. Of course, send me a message and I will share some tips from my interview experience.
  4. Applied on 10/27, received an invite to pick my top units on 11/16, received an email for interview on 11/24. Interview scheduled for 12/12. Good luck! I'll give you some tips on their interview process when the time comes.
  5. Last name starts with B. Inwas offered Trauma step down. Good luck!
  6. The last round you could only apply to one position for all of Sharp. Other application periods were different, so that could change. Good luck!
  7. I interviewed with 4W,5W, 6W on Dec 12th, I received an invite for checkster on the 13th. My people finished it by the 15th and I have also not heard anything either. I am chalking this one up to a loss.
  8. As someone said, they are still sending out invites based on declination. My classmates received an invite on Thursday and has until tonight to respond.
  9. Congratulations!!! Which unit did they offer you? Also, did they request references? Thanks!
  10. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on your interview!
  11. Thanks for the update! Would you mind sharing what time you got the email and what unit/s it's for?
  12. Thank you! This is my first nursing interview and I'm pretty nervous! Hope you hear something today.
  13. That's awesome, a request for references sounds like a good sign. Can you give some feedback on what your interview was like? I'm interviewing with Sharp Memorial next week.
  14. I'm in North County San Diego. I have a BSN. Never did clincials there, but did do an externship in a PCU.
  15. I also received an email for an interview with Sharp Memorial PCU!!
  16. The choices were DOU, Trauma/Neuro PCU, Transplant PCU, Cardio/thoracic PCU, and Medical PCU. Also, my status still says "under consideration".
  17. I think you are ok if you can see that it was submitted.
  18. I also received the email, but mine only had 5 choices. I applied to Sharp memorial PCU residency.
  19. Unfortunately it appears the positions have been taken down. This is common for Palomar. I have heard in the past, the applications have closed as quickly as a few hours. Maybe you could apply to L/D just to get an interview. As for your comment about receiving emails, I received an email response for each of the 7 units I applied for. Good luck!
  20. Hi all, I realize this is an old thread but hoping someone can advise me. I heard the Palomar application closes early so I wanted to know if they have a questionnaire as part of it. It seems that most new grad applications have a questionnaire, but they are all very different. I'm hoping someone remembers so that I can be as prepared as possible for when the application opens. Thank you in advance!!
