Hello everyone, this is my first semester of nursing school, unfortunately fully online. I am having a difficult time just reading and trying to understand the information. Also it is a lot! I want to purchase some supplemental online programs like simple nursing or Kaplan nursing... does anyone recommend these? Or anything else? Thanks

Hello everyone! I am planning on going back to school and I obviously want to major in Nursing. My plan is to go to a community college in NYC & get my associates degree, work as a nurse, and continue my education at a 4 year college and get my bachelors. I have been looking at a few community colleges like BCC, BMCC, Westchester and they all offer nursing programs. From what I'm seeing, they all offer different degrees like AA or AAS in nursing. I'm wondering what exactly is the difference?? My colleague told me that AAS degree credits don't transfer, so If I want to work, and also go on to get my 4 year, I won't be able to. She told me that AA credits DO transfer. I'm wondering if she's correct? Does anyone know or have experience in this? Thanks in Advance!!

Hello my fellow pre-nursing, nursing students and nurses lol So I need some advice! I just started going back to school last semester, part time at BMCC in Manhattan, 2 year college to get my associates in nursing. I'm currently attending as a part-time student. I have a few questions because I have been asking my advisers and other students but everyone gives me completely different answers and advice so I figured who is best to ask than nursing students and nurses?! My overall end goal is to be a neo-natal nurse or midwife nurse & also a birth photographer. I know I have a long way to go but I'm 25 and I do not want to keep wasting any more time or do I want to take unnecessary classes. I was thinking of doing my two year and than working and getting experience as a nurse and than keep going to school to get my bsn. What I am worried about is that when I go back to get my bsn, at a different school of-course, my credits won't transfer? Do the pre-requisites matter once you get your associates and you're going for bsn? My friend advised me to go to an accelerated nursing program.. does anyone recommend that? Is anyone else currently going to BMCC or went to their nursing program? I hear its very competitive to get in... I'm wondering why this is since its a community college? I am considering transferring to another cuny school but I am not sure it's the wisest choice... I would really really appreciate any constructive opinions or advice... THANK YOU
