  1. My burning question is will the program prepare me to have NP reciprocity upon passing the NP licensure exam in every state?
  2. I figured out how to use my computer LOL ? I got in! AGAC-NP. Congrats to everyone!
  3. Mine still says submitted for AGAC-NP
  4. Yes, and I used to live in Nashville. What would you like to know? I’ve been accepted at Johns Hopkins. Vanderbilt decisions always come late.
  5. Where did you decide to go instead?
  6. I applied to AGACNP at Vanderbilt. If you got accepted to both, which would you choose? Any ideas?
  7. I don’t think it’ll be until mid Feb! Vandy is always last to make their choice. In the meantime, I found out that I was accepted to Johns Hopkins!
  8. Ahh, I’m sorry for giving you a mini heart attack! ? We have our white coat ceremony 01/21 and class begins 01/25. However, JHU has been keeping up busy with a few pre-enrollment trainings and compliance requirements. I actually did not apply early decision. I applied later in the game and assumed I’d be waitlisted at best and have things to tweak for the following application cycle. But I was accepted! My GPA was a 3.8 overall and in the prerequisites, I was a CNA in Alzheimers and then Rehab for a total of 18mos experience, I did some diversity research in undergrad, I worked with kids in foster care, and I studied abroad in Puerto Rico doing things like needle exchange, hurricane relief, etc.
  9. Hey everyone! I was accepted for Spring 2021, but have been following this thread. Everyone will be notified via email whether you are accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. Sometimes they come out in random, scheduled batches. I received my email on a Monday morning at 9am. If people hear something back before you do, it does not automatically mean you were rejected or waitlisted. Good luck! ??
  10. Hi! I got accepted for Spring entry and I applied on the last possible day you could apply. I was surprised I got in the first time because I didn’t make the early decision deadline. My recommendation is to follow the instructions. Two essays, 300 words or less. They want to ensure that you can 1. Follow instructions and 2. Be clear and concise in your responses so that your “why” stands out. Good luck!
  11. Honestly, I had close to a 4.0 and was waitlisted for not having enough prerequisites completed even though they would all be completed in time for the program. I applied early decision. With that said, you cannot predict who they will choose to accept or waitlist.
  12. So is it not true that if you work for a hospital or the VA for 10 years, loans are forgiven?
  13. I think it also depends on where you want to work. Do you want to be in a top-ranked hospital? Or do you want to be in a small town? It’s a lot easier to get into places from your RN infancy coming out of a place like JHU.
  14. For me, the MSN makes sense because my goal is to become a NP. With Johns Hopkins, you are investing in an international reputation, extensive connections, and the best instruction and experiences possible. All doors are open to you as a nurse when attending JHU.
  15. Hey! I was accepted during the regular admissions application period for Spring 2021. Overall GPA was 3.8. Undergraduate degree is in English and Journalism. I did a study abroad in Puerto Rico doing outreach (clean needle exchange, homelessness, communities still feeling the impacts of Hurricane Maria). I’ve been a CNA since 2018 where I have worked with late-stage Alzheimer’s and rehab patients. I conducted research about systemic racism in undergraduate school. I have 500 volunteer hours with nonprofits, and I was a foster parent for 4 years. For reference, I’m 30, so I didn’t apply immediately after graduating with my Bachelors.
  16. You can go straight out of undergrad! My advice would be to study abroad or volunteer a lot. Anything that would put you out of your comfort zone.
  17. I applied and got in during the regular admissions period, and they gave me until 11/17 to accept and pay my deposit. I wonder if they’ll accept people off the waitlist up until that date. Good luck to those still waiting!
  18. Were you waitlisted just today? I got in via regular pool admissions, so hopefully those waiting will hear back soon! I’m not sure how much time they gave me to respond to my offer because my activation pin isn’t working, so I had to email them.
  19. It was a question I asked at the virtual open house.
  20. For AG-ACNP, they accepted 19 PreSpecialty students last year vs. direct entry students out of the 50-60 total students they accept for that specialty.
  21. I kept everything to 300 words as the directions stated.
  22. Happy to have people to wait with! I am SO nervous, but I know I gave it my very best and was open and honest in my responses.
  23. Hmm. Well I’m still awaiting an acceptance or denial. Are regrets only sent via snail mail or also email?
