I have an interview scheduled for July 19th. I have read some previous posts about how the interview is pretty laid back. Typically I think they divide you into 2 groups. 1 group will tour the campus while the other group does interviews with a panel of about 3 people then they switch. Everything I have read has been posted several years ago so if anyone knows if the interview process has changed it would be really helpful to me!

I also had a similar interview experience at Clarkson. It was a very personal interview. The panel really just wants to see if you are a good fit for their program and they tell you that from the beginning. My experience was that I was with 2 current students in the program for about 30 min or so discussing and asking questions about the program. I agree that when people say this program really wants their students to succeed. That is exactly how they make you feel. I paneled with about 5-6 women who each asked me about two personal, get to know you questions. They started off by you talking about yourself, your accomplishments and work carreer and what you have done. The questions I was asked personally were: What do you think a CRNA does daily? What are your strengths and weaknesses? What would you do if you didn't get into the program? Asked me about my pediatric experience Why are you not teaching? (I have a MSN in Nursing Education) What is your motivation to be a CRNA? What would you do if you failed the first test? How do you handle blunt criticism? They also give you time to ask any questions you may have about the program. They have you go back downstairs with the students, fill out some paperwork and then you are free to leave. I was probably at the college for about 1.5 hours total. This really is a unique program and I feel like the interview went really well. I hope to hear back in the next few weeks about acceptance.

I am in a similar position as you. I have a GPA of 3.0 in my BSN; however I have an MSN which my GPA was 3.8 and graduated with honors. I also have been in the ICU since about Aug of 2014, but the majority of my nursing background has been ER. I was really nervous that my lack of extensive ICU and low GPA in undergrad would effect me, but I just found out a few days ago that I got an interview! I also have my CCRN, CEN, TCRN, and TNCC so I think those certifications really helped me. I wouldn't give up with those stats though. It has taken me a long time to boost my GPA and to get more ICU experience but it is finally paying off for me! Hope everything works out in your favor.
