  1. Did my senior preceptorship in peds med/surge, has anybody heard from the peds units yet? Thank you!
  2. Thank you so much! Unfortunately I had forgotten to ask how many people they were hiring for the unit as well. Hopefully someone else here might be able to chime in!
  3. Got my email for an interview on January 17th! Best of luck to everyone else interviewing and/or waiting to hear back!
  4. Did my interview yesterday for the Medical Unit, felt really good. Lots of good rapport and - surprisingly - a handful of mutual laughter. Hoping for the best.
  5. Thank you for the heads up! Just checked my application status and mine has also changed to 050-Route! Fingers crossed for everyone!
  6. Just got a call to interview for the Medical Unit on Monday December 18th at 8:30AM! Anybody have any tips? Best of luck everyone!
  7. Hello, hello Thank you for starting a thread! My first choice is Medical Care Unit and the second choice is the Acute Cardiac Unit. Graduated in March and from Northern California, hoping to hear back from Rady's soon!
  8. Hello, hello, I wanted to start up a new grad post for those of us applying to Seattle Children's residency program for winter 2018 (starting March 5, 2018). The three units I am applying for are the Acute Care Float Pool, Medical Unit, and the Cancer Care Unit. Best of luck to those of us who have submitted/who will be submitting their applications!
  9. Hello all, Thank you for creating this thread! Just put in my application last week too, best of luck to us all. Will stay posted on this thread!
  10. Update: Just got an email from talent acquisition to interview for their Acute Peds Unit on November 29th!
  11. Hello all, Is anyone's status still at "Online Assessment Completed?" I submitted and finished it on 10/11 and haven't gotten any updates, I applied for peds. Thanks everyone!
  12. Hello I am just checking in, but has anyone heard back from the Heart Institute yet? Thank you!
  13. Applied to the Heart Institute, anybody hear back about interviews or anything?
  14. Mine were general, but my writers have known me for quite some time so there's a little bit more than the general "They're a good fit because X, Y, and Z." I was instructed to simply swap the dates and addressee when I submit them to different programs.
  15. Thank you for starting this thread! I started getting a little anxious when I couldn't find anything on the job search page, best of luck everyone!
  16. Hello hello, I completely understand your hesitancy regarding the PVT! I did all 265 questions on the NCLEX and thought I completely failed it, I Google'd the PVT, and was hesitant to try it at first but I ended up getting the "good pop up." I was cautiously optimistic at first, but low and behold 48 hours after my test I checked California's Board of Registered Nursing website and saw I passed the test. Every classmate of mine that I know who used the PVT also attested to its accuracy.
  17. Hello hello, I am sorry to hear you took your exam in May and ended up failing, I also took it in May and have recently passed! In regards to materials I used: I initially only used Kaplan and lightly used UWorld. The second time around I continued using Kaplan, did majority of my practice questions through UWorld, and a friend shared their Hurst account with me to listen to Hurst's audio reviews. Unfortunately these resources have to be paid for - or you can share/ask a friend to borrow their's - but they are well-worth the investment! I especially found Hurst's audio reviews to be extremely helpful to listen to as I passed the time driving, cleaning, etc. In terms of other resources the only other one I used was this cram sheet to reference before I took the test: http://www.brcn.edu/upload/docs/brcn/lrc/nurseslabs-cram-sheet.pdf NOTE: I printed it out and changed some of the lab values to match what my UWorld resources gave me
  18. Congratulations! I also took all 265 questions and wracked my brain for hours after and decided to do the PVT. Ended up doing the PVT - California's Board of Registered Nursing is also notoriously slow - and got the good popup. I was cautiously optimistic at first, but low and behold 48 hours after I took my test my results were posted! Best of luck to you on the job hunt!
  19. Hello hello, Best of luck to you! I recently passed my NCLEX and used UWorld too: your statistics look much better than mine before I tested! You have got this! Be sure to sleep as much as you can beforehand, eat a nice meal, bring some water and a few snacks with you in case you're there for a long while, and don't be afraid to take moment to sit back & breathe a little during the test.
