NorthShore University - CRNA 2024
Hi! I interviewed on Tuesday (07/25) and I believe we're the last batch of interviewees. The PD was honest about sending acceptances already by batches but she said expect to hear from them by mid August (I'm assuming that's the latest). I've heard of people getting acceptances the next day after they interview.

Just chiming in. I received my rejection letter last year 10pm on a Monday. I also didn’t get invited back to interview with you guys though (for the 2021 cohort) so just gonna reapply next year. Best of luck to all of you! ? Also, I know how it can be so nerve wracking to wait on these letters/emails. My friend received her acceptance letter on a Wednesday (we interviewedtogether). So keep yourself distracted for the mean time.

LOL I feel you on this. Last year I received the invitation to interview January 12 (Sunday, so exactly a year ago), so I’m expecting anytime this week. ?

GPA: >3.0 (Tbh, IDK what it is exactly because I had less than 3.0 two years ago, I retook 3 classes but IDK how much it bumped it) GRE: 293 MICU 5 years CCRN Charge, preceptor UPC co-chair + active member of another committees Medical mission in kenya, plus another organization locally Presented my research in 2018 at our research conference 40+ hours of shadowing My GPA and GRE are nothing to write home about but like I mentioned previously, I just tried to be well rounded. IDK if it helps but I tried to get my face out there at SMU. I attended diversity CRNA twice there, shadowed one of their classes, volunteered at one of their “programs” (can’t say too much about this but it got me the opportunity to work with the SMU CRNA faculties and a lot of CRNAs), and shadowed one of their CRNA faculties as well. LOL I hope that already shows how much I want to get into their program. ?

Let’s prepare now by doing mock interviews. I only did one last year and that was my mistake. Your stats get you the interview, but it’s the interview that gets you in. I only raised my GRE by 1 point (and still didn’t get above 300). With that being said, I appreciate how SMU really looks for a well rounded applicant.

I hope so! Thank you, they said it was really just my interview (why I didn’t get an offer, got so nervous ?), so just work on that and probably retake my GRE. They said that I would get an offer depending on how strong the applicant pool is this year. But they also said that I’m actually a strong applicant (does that make sense?) So that could mean I can NOT get an interview. I’m not too confident about it but I’m hopeful cause I tried to be well rounded in my app. ?

USC (Southern California) 2020
Hi indienurse, during the info session, the program directors mentioned multiple times that the GRE is just going to be a small percentage (hence, why they also removed the >300 requirement). They focus more on leadership, experience, committees, etc. Just try to do your best on the GRE and still submit your score ?

USC CRNA 2020
Hi, anyone here applying to USC (Southern California) for 2020?

entering a CRNA program with a BSN from abroad
Hello, CRNA School applicant over here, I graduated outside of the US. My suggestion is talk to the schools on what their advice would be. Some schools would require you to submit your transcript/s to a foreign transcript evaluation company and that company would be the one who will convert and send it to your school of choice. Other schools require that you submit your transcript from France to them and they have their own evaluation department. Hope this helps!

Is there any hope for me at this point?
Hi! Just to share, my brother graduated from nursing school in the Philippines in 2009. He took the NCLEX in 2011, failed. He wasn't able to take it until 2016 (loooooooong story why), failed the 2nd time. And he tried the 3rd time this year and passed! By God's grace! That's almost 9 years since he finished nursing school! He really just kept reviewing (while working) for months using U world and I saw more dedication on the third time. So, there is hope. If there's a will, there's a way. You can do it!!! :)
