MHCC/PCC Fall 2018/Winter 2019
My friend took all her prequisites at PCC and had a 4.0 and still got declined. It's crazy competitive this year

I didn't get invited to the proctored essay. Bummer. Good luck to everyone else!

Waitlisted for University of Portland Spring 2019
Ahh!! Thank you for the update Brianna! I've been so nervous these past couple of weeks I was curious to see if they would be able to tell us where we stand on the waitlist, and got this: "We don't number students on the waitlist. If we have spots available and are able to go to the waitlist, then we review all the applicants on the waitlist and make decisions to admit."

OHSU BSN Fall 2018
Do you guys know whether or not OHSU notifies you of rejection? Or will you not hear back from them?

Waitlisted for University of Portland Spring 2019
Hi Brianna! When you said they offered 30 spots, you meant they only granted admission to 30 people? Or are they planning to offer only 30 spots for waitlisted students? My friend is currently in UP's nursing program and her cohort is one of the biggest- 95 students. I wish they told us our ranking so we have some sort of idea where we're at and what our chances may be. Fingers crossed for the both of us. Did you apply to OHSU?

Waitlisted for University of Portland Spring 2019
Hi guys! I received the news yesterday in the mail saying that I was waitlisted- kind of bummed but also hopeful. I haven't seen a post about University of Portland yet, so I figured I would post something. :) I'm curious to see what your guys' results were and what nursing programs you guys applied to this year. Also, for people who were previously waitlisted for UP's program, did they tell you what number you were on the waitlist? I called the admissions office this morning and they told me they weren't allowed to tell applicants their rankings, and how there are about 100 people on the waitlist. I look forward to hearing back from you guys!

Feeling bummed
I'm in the same position as you! I didn't really have a passion for nursing in the beginning, and I also didn't know how to study. Might sound funny, but I finally learned a way that works best for me when I retook the anatomy sequence for the 2nd time. Turned all 3 C's into A's. Please don't lose hope. Focus on school, and keep telling yourself that it's all worth it in the end. You have a couple of more pre-reqs to do really well on, aim for A's in the rest of them. I had to dedicate a whole year to focus only on anatomy. Pace yourself if you have to, whatever it takes to get an A because there's no rush. You got this! I also volunteer at OHSU :) it's a very good way to get your foot in the door and also a feel for the environment. I'm applying to nursing school right now actually, and applications are due in February.

C in Nutrition?
Hi guys! My first post here on this website and I've been a long time reader on here for awhile now. :) I'm in the process of applying to four different programs in Oregon right now: OHSU, Clackamas, PCC, and University of Portland. And I ran into a small problem...I took PHE 325U Nutrition for Health in hopes of replacing the grade that I got for Nutrition 250 (FN 225). Both taken at Portland State. But, only OHSU takes PHE 325U and not the other 3 programs. I got an A in PHE 325U, and a C in CH 250 Nutrition. Knowing that these programs are VERY competitive, I can't get myself to not retake FN 225 again in hopes of getting an A. I just want your guys' opinion on this. Is that C going to break me? Grades as of right now: A&P1 B A&P2 A A&P3 A Human Development A Microbiology B+ Writing 121+122 A's Statistics B+ Social Science/Humanities mix of A's and B's I look forward to hearing about your experiences. :) This whole process has given me anxiety from the start of school.
