  1. Oh it’s the last semester for me so there’s my motivation LOL, can’t wait for it to be over. Well over for now, my BSN program starts in January ? I do hope you guys breeze through with no issues despite the craziness happening at the moment.
  2. It’s over 100 hours that we have to complete each semester. Not sure of the total. We stopped going Mid March in level 3 but of course KW supplemented with excessive case studies ? we have yet to hear anything right now on whether we’ll be going to clinical (which I doubt we will) so we’ll likely be group chatting with our instructors, doing more case studies and virtual simulations as our “clinical” time.
  3. Right now everything is online due to Covid.. I’m in my last semester and this is the first time we’ll be starting completely online (besides when Covid initially hit which was mid March) so I’m not sure how it’s gonna go right now but “on campus“ KW is tough. I must admit it’s the harder program out of all the locations. I work, but only 3 days a week but I’m hanging in there. All depends on your situation and whether you have children and whatnot. But to answer your question, lecture is only 2 hours long 2 days a week. We’re done with lab after the first year so we don’t have to worry about that at this point. I also couldn’t tell you what Lab is like for first year students because I didn’t complete my first year at KW but at NH. Clinical is one day a week 10 hour day. Hope this helps.
  4. No problem! If you have anymore questions feel free to ask, I’m in the program at &Kingwood right now.
  5. They’re slight nursing style questions so there’s really no way to study for it but to just practice NCLEX style priority questions, such as, who would you see first. Also, all answers are correct but what’s most correct or how would you intervene first.
  6. I'm here w/ the nursing advisor right now. She said they are shooting for this Friday or Next. She also said they could go out anytime during the week as well but she's aiming for Friday.
  7. So guys I have some news! I would love to leak information but all I'm going to say is be prepared to get your letters this Friday or Next Friday.. also, I'm speaking for NH although, I do anticipate all campuses will send letters on at the same day. Congrats & get ready!!!
  8. I have a hand tattoo and I cover it with waterproof makeup. I was given a ''U'' in regards to uniform appearance due to my tatt not being covered on the 1st day of clinical so they take it very serious. If you have sleeve tattoos just get a long sleeved undershirt to go under your scrubs. It has to be white as well.
  9. Yes I do believe all campuses schedules are different the first 3 weeks because we have to orient with the hospital, lab, and lecture.
  10. You'll get the schedule likely late July. When they send the course calendar it'll tell you what your permanent schedule will be for the entire semester however, the first 3 weeks will be Monday through Friday. To give you an idea it'll be something like this schedule.
  11. Thank you love bug! Thank you, thank you for coming out & being a helping hand alongside SNA with the nursing graduate luncheon today. Dr. Noeller and Jaunita wanted me to thank you! You were awesome. Can't wait to see more of you in the program next year! Remember anytime you need a little guidance from the upper levels, I'm here ❤️ Night.
  12. Were they specifically done for TBON? Or for other entities? If they were done for TBON, then no. You will not have to submit them again. They would just run your background again in case anything new has happened.
  13. It's no guarantee however, it's a foot in the door and when that offer was extended to LSC as a whole, it was extended to NH & no other campus. I'm not trying to be mean here, but you can only speak from your experiences and Montgomery can only speak of what they & what they know is what Montgomery does. NO ADN is guaranteed a position in any mag stat hospital due to the fact that "higher-level" RNs get priority. Now that's facts.
  14. That's definitely not true at all. In fact MH has offered NH students positions as PCAs so that they could possibly transition upon graduation. They're also allowing the students to shadow in a specialty of their choice this year.
  15. I started before because I knew I would get in somewhere lol and the Lonestar website tells you what you need ??‍♀️ but the titers are good for 3 years so they won't expire by the time you guys are done with the program. Basic CPR certification, I can understand wanting to wait on that since it expires every 2 years however, you're always gonna need it for as long as you're practicing as an RN so it should be no big deal to renew when it's time. Plus you got the plug ?. If you're getting the TB skin test rather than the PPD blood draw then yes wait on that it expires every 6 months to 1 year. It's not going to matter if you guys start them now or when you get the letters really. But if you want to be safe and sure it's what you need then yes, wait.
  16. No problem, I understand the excitement you guys are feeling I was there. Take this time to refresh on A&P, get your blood work done, get your MMR & Varicella quantitative titers together, your TB skin test, and your CPR certification. These are things you can begin to do so when it's time to upload to Castlebranch you're all set.
  17. No problem girl ?
  18. Ok, so I got the chance to speak to Mrs. Juanita again today.. I told her about how anxious you guys are in receiving your letters. Her response was to let you guys know that all she will tell you is to just check your MyLonestar emails regularly for your letters. That is all she can really give you. She has to set a date for your orientation and right now as part of SNA we're using the lecture hall to coordinate things for the graduating class of 2019. Also, she also makes the schedules for all the other students such as the current students, the MEEP program that's coming up this summer and for the transitions, she coordinates a lot which is why it's taking a little time. It's coming!! Also, she has to receive verification from many sources before she gets the green light to send out letters such as your clinical sites. She looks worn down and I'm not even joking, give her some time it will come sooner than you think and when you least expect it. Sending her emails and calling will only slow her down in the end and make you guys more anxious.
  19. What bag you pay for that was $350 Harry? ? You must have a deluxe bag lol.
  20. Guys that lab bag will be drawn out of a bowl. You guys won't get a practice quiz until student/family night which is 1-2 weeks prior to the start of the semester. Orientation is strictly them going over the booklist, scrubs, program rules, and the drug test. I advise you guys to really take this time to brush up on your A & P since it is the foundational basis of nursing BUT also relax and enjoy the time you have off because this is no easy ride and you will get burnt out. The first dosage calculation test won't be until the second week of school and it's basic and pretty much deals with ratio proportions and conversions. You guys will have PLENTY of time to study.. they're not gonna hang you guys to dry they walk you through many things. There will be a math review and practice tests that are EXACT to the actual test. It's fairly easy but gets a bit tougher as the semesters progress. Also, I wouldn't purchase anything yet because there's a lot that comes in your $200 lab bag and most of it you won't get to put to use. We are officially done with lab and most people will be donating what they didn't use to you guys. You only have lab the first 2 semesters and then it's over.
  21. That comes with the EHR tutor code in your booklist. So you're gonna have 2.
  22. Thanks for the insight! This was very informing, I really do appreciate. Are you guys all set to continue on to getting your RN?
  23. May I ask what type of establishment you guys work in as LVNs in Houston? Was it difficult getting into hospitals? And what is the pay average for LVNs? I am inquiring because I have just been accepted into our MEEP Program and is trying to decide if it's worth it. I got the chance to ask a few nurses during my clinical rotations however, because none of them are LVNs I feel like they don't truly know and understand.
  24. It's been tough lol but doable. We have one more exam and then the final and that's it for the semester. We just received an email and it mentioned that lab is open for the transition students this summer, are you guys having to do skills? Have yall not already done them in the LVN program?
