Georgetown CNL Fall 2018
Thanks everyone for the neighborhood advice! I will be in town a few days early and while my husband is at his conference I plan to just walk and explore (weather permitting).

Georgetown CNL Fall 2018
Thank you so much peanutfish! There's only so much information you can gather from Google Maps and different websites. We love Austin too. Living in the Dallas burbs its only a 3.5 hour drive for us (on a good construction day. You'd be surprised at the traffic/widening of 35 south). We try to get down there as much as possible especially during the summers to float the Guadalupe and Comal rivers. I have some places lined up to go look at. My biggest hurdle is my Great Dane. Seeing as we will be renting, many people look at Great Danes as aliens but quite honestly he's a lap dog couch potato. Before anyone jumps down my throat about having a Great Dane in an apartment, he was raised in a loft in downtown Dallas before we bought our house in the burbs. Dane's make wonderful apartment dogs and my husband will be working from home when he's in DC. Most of the properties I have lined up to go see are in Arlington (Pentagon City I believe?) as this property management company allow has no breed restrictions and are about 4 or so miles from campus. I don't plan on driving too terribly often but I know the husband and I would like to load the dogs up on the weekends and go explore and take some road trips as the East coast is fairly new to us. Arlington peaked our interest as it was close to the airport as well. My husband's company is here in Dallas and he will be back and forth quite a bit and there are quite a few direct flights from Reagan to Dallas. All we know is we are very excited to meet everyone, live in a new city for a bit (Texas will always be home) and get this new chapter started. The 24 months will fly by.

Coming from Texas and being relatively unfamiliar with DC and a lack of efficient public transit here at home, how far is Foggy Bottom from Georgetown? I know Chicago's bus/L system like the back of my hand so I enjoy public transportation and don't mind a walk. My car is moving with me and my husbands truck is staying in Texas as he will be back and forth weekly. What is the parking like in DC? I lived in downtown Dallas for years so garages / street parking aren't new but just curious!

I'm right there with you. I'm not sure, but did I understand it correctly that the primer class was online obviously but it came across that it was a sporadic type class. I didn't ask for clarification but is anyone sure how it works exactly?

I've pinpointed the Arlington, VA area. More pet friendly, easy access to the airport for my husband, still close to school with everything I need (gym, grocery store, Target, Petsmart) all very close. I'm not sure your budget but I've pretty much picked out my apartment and the management company is Equity Apartments. They have properties all over DC and surrounding areas. Also, I had a mini meltdown.. who am I kidding a full blown meltdown when my prerequisite evaluation came through about an hour ago. Triple check it because mine only showed one course to have been completed when all but one (due to the five year limit) were complete. I called and they went over my transcripts with me over the phone and are making the corrections and re-sending to me.

I think they are. The deposit is due April 15th right? I haven't deposited yet. I will after the Admitted Student on April 6th. Even though my mind is made up I want to just check all the boxes as I will be moving from Texas. I've filled out my FAFSA but I have also been looking into other lenders.

Georgetown CNL Fall 2018
No but I would really like to receive mine soon. I know that I will have to take A&P I again seeing as I took it in 2012. Some schools I applied to accepted it within that time frame, others had it within 5 years of the application cycle, and some would make me retake it and I'm assuming GU is the same. If I have to, I want to get signed up for the May-mester before it fills up so I can get it done. Is there a Facebook group yet? I don't think there is, but would anyone be interested in setting one up? I'm not very Facebook literate otherwise I would.

OU ABSN 2018 (2017 Applicant)
Either way, let me know! I'll message you my email! You know when it came to Vanderbilt, in the week leading up to the decisions being released my husband and I had some unforeseen circumstances come up and it was a blessing in disguise really. I never got the warm fuzzy feelings from Vanderbilt. No one was ever overly helpful or friendly. The whole "they look at you holistically" was a load of crap if you ask me. Besides, I'll save myself 60k+ going the ABSN then NP route here in Big 12 country / Texas. Either way let me know which way you decide to go!

Hi everyone! Anyone coming from the Dallas area to the OKC campus?
-
Vanderbilt MSN 2018
Got my denial last night but have other schools as a back up. Life goes on! Congrats everyone! You will all become amazing NP's. :)

MGH IHP DE NP 2018
I'm wait listed for AG-ACNP. Congrats everyone!!

Vanderbilt MSN 2018
I've overthought everything even before sending out my applications, so don't worry! Ultimately, I know that the ABSN then MSN route will save me so much more money but I'm really hoping for Vandy so I dont have to go through the application / getting recommendation process all over again. I think there are still a lot more admissions to be sent out! I'm trying to keep the faith but it's getting hard lol.

Vanderbilt MSN 2018
Oh my gosh I deposited at OU ABSN too!! I heard from them first (as in weeks before others) so I went ahead and paid the depost because it was cheap(er) haha. What campus did you deposit at? I did OKC. I considered asking whether or not to ask if I could find out early but I didn't know how well that would go over so I held off for now. I'd be moving from Heath/Rockwall just outside of Dallas. My husband and I want to move out of the Dallas craziness and Nashville appeals to both of us.

Vanderbilt MSN 2018
I'm right there with you! I'm holding out for Vanderbilt but I've got a deposit due today and I've waited until the 11th hour so I was hoping to hear yesteray. I really don't want to be out 600 dollars but what can you do lol. I'll be moving from Texas so I just want a decision one way or another at this point.
-
Vanderbilt MSN 2018
I was just emailed "Decisions will be coming out on a rolling basis." So hang tight, y'all! Decisions are still coming.
-
Vanderbilt MSN 2018
I just emailed admissions. I'm too chicken to call But I'll let you know what I hear although I'm expecting the generic answer that they're coming out in waves, yadda yadda.
