  1. This is doable. You just have to be focused. You should never take two sciences together. But your schedule looks fine.
  2. You need to get As if you plan on applying to a public community college or university. It is highly competitive.
  3. Thanks for the tips, that was helpful. Is there anything at all that we should read or work on before school starts?
  4. Do you have any tips on what to do to be successful? Anything to study before nursing school? Any books or resources you found helpful? Any teachers we should stay away from? Thanks for the heads up.
  5. Thank you! It'll be nice to get to know who we will be working with for the next couple of years. I want to start studying before the program starts. I'll wait for the link to pop up.
  6. Could you please? I really don't use Facebook that much. I'm not quite sure how to start the group. I think we have to be friends first.
  7. Does anyone know if our class has a Facebook group?
  8. I got accepted! I'm so thankful.
  9. I am so sorry bowsersjc. I really hope you are successful getting into a program soon. My thoughts are with you.
  10. I'm getting so excited! Then the next minute I'm so nervous. I wish I just knew what the decision is. A few more days!!!
  11. I heard a lot of nursing students work as CNAs because of the flexibility. Many jobs are used to working with students. It could help with expenses. Im more nervous about the grueling 2 years of hard work ahead. Listening to nursing students on YouTube has made me more anxious than excited.
  12. https://allnurses.com/nursing-student-assistance/our-nursing-class-120828.html I think the idea is for the teaching style to be more interactive, which is great. I just feel nervous about being the first. If you search concept based curriculum on this site, a few threads will pop up.
  13. Maybe they are accepting a smaller class because the major curriculum change. They might need to work out the kinks on a smaller group. Either way, it's a bummer.
  14. Yes to all of those questions. There are articles in the pilot and online discussing how TCC is dealing with declining enrollment and budget cuts.
  15. It's a big problem. Enrollment is down across the country. TCC has had layoffs. Unemployment is so low, many people have jobs. There is less of a drive to go back to school.
  16. It's possible that the cohort has a lower Hesi average. Enrollment is down so maybe the competition will be less competitive.
  17. All my classes are complete. I have a 3.8 GPA and a 93 on my Hesi. I'm hoping it's enough.
  18. I only have PSY 235. I tried to do an official waiver and was told that it wasn't needed. They just changed the requirement for Fall 2018. 235 was required before that. At my information session they said they would take either 230 or 235.
  19. Is anyone concerned that we would be the first class with the new Concept Based Curriculum? I read that students were having to research and teach each other the concepts. The teacher doesn't lecture, she only steps in to assist. That makes me nervous. Has anyone heard about how the new teaching style will work?
  20. I was told by Alicia that the letters will go out the week of April 15th. Everyone who applied should receive a letter. I'm nervous too!
  21. It's unfortunate that the nights and weekend option is no longer available. It would have given us all a better chance. I'm hoping for the best.
  22. They only have 1 cohort this fall with 32 seats. Hopefully there won't be a lot of applicants.
