  1. Hey thanks for the heads-up. A former co-worker of mine worked for them as well and had only good things to say, so I assume it depends on what happens at the facility. I’m not familiar with her alternative options but signing up for another year is probably better than paying the retainer ??
  2. I signed up with Interstaff Inc. and couldn’t be happier about the process. I’ve met a lot of black sheep along the way and Interstaff Inc. has really come through. Sure their assignment is 3 years compared to 2 years, but I trust them. I graduated from a US Community College and had a work permit for a year and tried to have my hospital sponsor me, but they usually don’t as if anything goes wrong during filing they don’t want to waste money, therefore they usually hire via an agency such as Interstaff. I had to leave the States and start a tedious licensing process in Germany. Get more work experience and now I’m literally waiting for my consular appointment. I’ve met a bunch of black sheep’s in the agency system abroad and here’s a list of agencies I don’t recommend: ADEX ( they only file for adjustment of status and for some reason accept nurses who literally just graduated, they took all of my documents and then said there wouldn’t be enough time to file because my visa screen took a while. Never called me back for Weeks) I don’t recall the name completely, but something with „ Pacific....“, it’s an Asian couple, she leads the agency, her husband is an immigration lawyer. I was working on Neuro as a new grad with an OPT permit and before they even filed they wanted me to move to PA and start working for the client. Their nurses were housed by the dozens from all over the globe and it was a pediatric home health job. I never worked peds nor did I have experience with ventilators, so I declined. It seemed odd to me that their nurses wouldn’t live in their own apartments and who knows if that Greencard would have ever been filed. I’m lucky I declined. Premier Healthcare professionals- Had an interview with them in London, those two employees suddenly didn’t work for the agency anymore and when I had enough work experience to file my paperwork I’d always get the same response „ I’ll check with our immigration lawyer“ then weeks of silence. They claimed they had some issues during Covid, but most agencies ran on extra speed during the pandemic. I got them to release me from the contract and luckily remembered an interview I had with Interstaff in the past. Impatient as I was back then, I thought the other offers would get me a faster arrangement. I was so wrong. From day one they’ve been on top of everything, frequent updates. I literally just received my NVC welcome letter and am scheduling my consulate interview soon. passport USA - literally never came through, useless calls and then when I was already in Germany claiming they had change in staff and would like to sponsor. They work with a lot of long term care facilities and I knew I wanted to stay in the hospital setting. Know that the US prefers consular processing over adjustment of status and a lot of nurses have been denied. There are a few solid agencies out there, go with the ones that have the resume to back it up or better yet, you know someone who went with them. A former co-worker of mine recommended them to me and I should have never looked for another one.
  3. Advise from a RN that was in Banner‘s new grad program : they are amazing and preceptors are amazing as well. Was a CNA at Abrazo Central during nursing school and would never work there as a nurse. That facility is hideous at best. They pay a lot because their patient to nurse ratio on Tele used to be 6:1 a few years ago at least. If you like your license, join Banner or Honor Health, plenty of good hospitals in The Valley.
  4. I never had in my life had a med error until moving to Germany, where there are no safety checks in place; I grabbed the 1g Novalgin instead of the 500mg one and gave it IV, reported it to the MD right away ( usually you need to call the MD and let them know and then in the states contact your manager as well), here the doc was like great in the ED we always give 1g and the patient is tolerating it well, relieved from pain and fever. Now go figure, your patient had a lot of pain, and the only reason the orders were spaced is the fact that you may have needed coverage in two hours and max dosing./day. Long story short, reporting at the moment, not two weeks later, makes it seem sketchy. This will never happen to you again.
