FL FNPs- Initial Licensing Questions
I have attempted to contact the Florida Board of Nursing by phone several times, but after being on hold for over an hour and a half, the calls consistently disconnect just as I seem to be connecting to customer service. I would greatly appreciate your assistance with a few questions, as I am trying to be proactive in completing the APRN licensure process and minimizing any delays once I pass my certification exam. I am currently awaiting approval from the ANCC to schedule my exam date. In the meantime, I have generated an initial APRN application on the FL BON website and have scheduled fingerprinting for tomorrow. 1. Could you please clarify the following (see attached photo): National Certification Section – The application asks whether I am nationally certified by a recognized certifying body. Since I have not yet taken the exam, should I: Select "Yes" and enter my anticipated exam date? Or select "No" for now? 2. Application Submission – If I select "No" regarding certification: Can I still submit and pay for the application? Will I be able to amend or update the certification status once I pass the exam without restarting the application? 3. Are there any common delays or errors in the application process that I should be aware of to avoid processing delays? 4. Is there an email or alternative contact method for status updates, given the difficulty reaching the board by phone? Thank you in advance for your time and guidance.

Help! Did Bad on the TEAS :(
Granted, I'm scheduled to take my first stab @ the exam tomorrow. However, I recommend biting the financial bullet & getting the ATI Smart Prep. You take a pre-test, which gives you a baseline of your weaknesses & they customize a learning plan for you for each section. You go through each learning module & at the end there are (5) question post quizzes. After completing all of the modules, they give you another post test. & if you are still struggling they give you another set of module quizzes, & a post test. What's nice is that you can always get the expanded modules for review. Included also are (2) full-timed TEAS exams plus the study manual. From my experience, it has been very helpful in solidifying the information, especially the science portion. In conjunction, I have being augmenting w/ the Kaplan, Mometrix books, & my old Tortora anatomy book from Anat. 1 & 2. There was a 20% code back in July & may still be active. I have only been studying in earnest for about (15) days so I'm planning on likely retesting for the last time 10/4. Good luck tomorrow! :-)
