  1. I received my acceptance to PMHNP last week. Congrats/good luck to all!
  2. It was pretty standard except that the first 15 minutes was a surprise writing prompt LOL. The rest of the questions were your basic "what made you decide to do this" questions.
  3. If I've learned anything from this process, it's that nothing happens on time. ?
  4. When I contacted the program in December they suggested Taylor College continuing ED refresher course. You get 30 CEs and it was relatively cheap. $80 I think?
  5. I was told sometime in April in my interview so hopefully next week ???? good luck everyone
  6. Was contacted yesterday for an interview for the PMHNP program! Good luck everyone.
  7. There's a hiring freeze right now. Best bet is to try and get in as a traveler, otherwise just keep applying and hope for the best.
  8. Hi everyone, I applied to the PMHNP MSN program for the fall. I'm also a nurse at UCSF. Fingers crossed! Good luck everyone!
  9. I applied to PMHNP. Based on last year's forum, emails went out about 4 days before the interview date. Good luck everyone! John RN
  10. I emailed with the director a few weeks back. They were still waiting for final approval at that point, but they're starting biweekly Q&A sessions next month, and there is an open house at the end of September. You can sign up on their website.
  11. Hi all, I'm looking for advice on good travel agencies for CTICU nurses. Specifically, one with good (reliable/honest) recruiters and well-paid positions on the west coast or down south (Texas, New Mexico, Arizona). Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks in advance! JL RN BSN
  12. I worked in a cardiothoracic surgical stepdown, and now in the CTICU. At my hospital, ACLS is only required for ICU nurses. However, I took ACLS as soon as possible after becoming stepdown trained, and I found it very clinically relevant and helpful. Although it wasn't required, most if not all of the nurses i worked with in the SDU had ACLS.
  13. Thanks for the good advice everyone. Good luck to you, St.BaptistRN
  14. Hi all, I'm an RN with experience in critical care and cardiothoracic surgery, currently working in a CTICU in a large hospital, and looking into military options. I would be looking to join as a CCRN as a commissioned officer. Wondering if anyone has experience as a military RN, specifically in critical care? What is the recruitment process like? Any deployment experience? I am also interested in student loan reimbursement/forgiveness. My ultimate goal is to become a CRNA. Any advice or anecdotes would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. JL RN BSN
