  1. Thank you so much guys! I secured a CNA job a week after the CNA written/Skills exam. Just waiting for the license #.
  2. Just graduated cna and going to be working at a psych unit. I've always wanted to be psych nurse so this would be great experience for me but to be honest, I'm not sure how to communicate with psych patients. what should I say or do if the patients say negative and inappropriate things to me? ofc, I wouldnt try to fight them or say something nasty back but do I just take it and ignore it? or should I tell them to stop and that I dont appreciate it? What of they get angry, what should I do? I wanna be a good psych nurse one day but I have no clue how to deal with these situations yet. Any advice?
  3. Wow, and this makes me wonder how people even got their job in the first place. Ignore him, he isn't paying you. Don't let negative people ruin it for you. People usually get into this field because theyes love helping other.... this dude is working in the wrong field.
  4. Okay, I'm not a CNA yet but I'm doing the cna program this coming summer. I have no cna experience whatsoever so I'm worried about having a hard time finding a job... Even if I do find a facility where CNA experience isn't required, I don't even have any experience in a regular job because right after highschool; college was my priority and I put 101% effort into my classes and decided to put min wage job on the back burner. Is there any hope for me??
  5. so I talked to my counselor and she said that in order to be accepted into the rn program I have to have everything done within 5 yrs. Okay cool, but is that only regarding the science classes ? (Anatomy, micro, chem, physiology)? Or does that 5 year started when I began college with my general ed ? Cause I started general ed 2 years ago already and I'm just barley taking anatomy this semester.
  6. Thanks for the information, really appreciate it. I've decided to just go straight for the RN program instead of taking the lvn route although I will still apply for the lvn to keep my option open. My concern is that I will exceed the limit of credits etc. And not be eligible for financial aid. I will not be able to finance my way through college + nursing program without it. I'm currently at 48 credits and should be around low 70s after I'm done with all my pre reqs. + nursing program(idk how many credits is the program is total)
  7. Hey guys, so I'm currently in a community college and I'm wondering how long does fasfa cover you and does it cover programs ? This coming fall will be my 3rd year In college and I just need two more classes to apply to the lvn program. While waiting to get accepted(3 years wait ) Im going to apply to the cna program and start working as a cna + part time school and finish up a few of the rn pre req left, so after I get accepted and finish lvn im going to the lvn rn bridge program. My question is will fasfa cover my lvn and rn program ? (This might take more than 6 years ) . Cna program will be paid out of my pocket. I'm just worried that I won't have money to pay for the lvn and bridge program if fasfa doesn't cover me. Has anyone been in the same situation ? Advice ?😣
