  1. I absolutely LOVE being a Psych Nurse! I am in home care and wouldn't change it for a thing! Those comments don't bother me at all :) Some may call me crazy lol in fact I get called crazy quite often. I am a Mom of 6 and caseload 30 patients currently. I also work part time in our education department as well...so maybe I am crazy lol but either way my come back is always maybe that's why I get along so well with all of my patients!
  2. I took this about a year or so ago and was so anxious I think I was more anxious than taking the Nclex itself. I took a course paid for by my employer and they also paid for the exam. I was so scared to look at my test results and waited until I left. I was sure I had failed. However I didn't :) I passed and prepared much the same way as I did for the Nclex, thankfully because it was very similar. I found practice questions were the best for me and continued to study the books and take as many practice tests as I could kind of like ATI testing. Good Luck!!!
  3. I love being a Psych Nurse! I'm in home care at that..I get to walk into my Patients homes on a daily basis and sometimes leave thinking...seriously who would even believe me if I told the stories I encounter everyday lol I also work in education for my company and left the full time educator position to go back to being a full time field Nurse. I wouldn't change my position for anything! Give it a try if you're looking for excitement :)
  4. Have you ever thought of Psych Nursing? Never a dull moment there :)
