Hey @TangoDeux! Which year's taxes/W2 forms did you submit?
-
2018 UPenn BSN/MSN
I don't see why we wouldn't be able to! I'm probably not the best one to answer this though because I haven't really looked into minors I might want to pursue outside of Women's Health.

FNP entails possibly working with children as it covers the lifespan (infancy to old age). AGPCNPs work with individuals from adolescence old age (starting at ~13 y/o).

Hi @believeinyounp, I have the same question regarding housing in the Columbia Medical Center! Did anyone here apply to the AGPCNP program?

Congrats everyone! Getting an interview for just the ABSN is great too. Penn ABSN students applying into the MSN have great chances of getting in so if your heart is set on Penn don't be discouraged!

Congrats @tdixon1828! I had to submit my deposit because the deadline was last month and I didn't receive my invite to interview at Penn till just yesterday. Grateful to have been accepted to Jeff though and would be thrilled to go

Good luck!! Don't stress yourself out too much. My friend got her invitation to interview 2 days after almost everyone else did last year. Fingers crossed for all!

I was trying to be optimistic in my decision to just book a flight hahaha but my SO lives in Philly so I was planning on making a trip out anyway :) I'm also super excited!! I'm sure you'll be great whether you go in-person or opt for the phone interview! For anyone looking for flights I recommend using skyscanner.com or Google Matrix!

@TangoDeux I actually booked a flight out to Philly a few weeks ago on Southwest Airlines to lock in a good rate and because I'd be able to cancel if I didn't get an interview! I have a couple friends who did the phone interview and they got in :) I'm personally more comfortable and confident in my abilities to communicate who I am in-person so I had no doubt I'd choose the in person interview if I was offered one. @rls2018 Nice congrats!! Which specialty? :)

@Vfalks Here you go! The total costs will be more to account for cost of living and such but just tuition is ~$100k https://www.nursing.upenn.edu/admissions/tuition-and-fees/accelerated-costs/ As far as decisions go, I know some applicants who apply to just the MSN portion will receive decisions before Christmas. From speaking with past applicants, everyone who applied to BSN/MSN programs got final decisions in early/mid-February. Hope this helps! @Sb328 I'm assuming FNP applicants would hear back at the same time as everyone else in February but not totally sure since this is the first year they aren't conducting any interviews for this specialty.

The BSN tuition costs roughly $100,000 but I'm not 100% sure what the cost of the MSN portion is.

Hi @ElizaP12! I believe they do. This is what the email said: BSN Second Degree applicants (and applicants not invited to interview for the MSN and PhD) will also be invited to interview. Applicants will be contacted between November 14, 2017 and January 31, 2018 to schedule an interview, if invited. Please note due to the high volume of applicants, we may not be able to offer an in person interview. The interviews will be approximately 30 minutes and held with an Associate Director within the admissions office at the School of Nursing. The interview is a great opportunity to learn more about the program, answer any questions you may have about, the nursing school, campus and the city.

Best of luck to you with your other schools @cac18! I only suggest that you contact Admissions because I've talked to the people in that office and they've always been willing to speak with me and offer me advice : ) @Tierravalen you've got a great GPA so that's a great starting point! Unfortunately I think you need to have some classes completed before you apply. This is what it says on their prerequisite guidelines: The below prerequisites must be completed before the program begins. Prerequisites may be in progress at time of application but the majority (including 3 of the 5 sciences) should be completed before an admission decision can be made. A conferred bachelor's degree is required before the program begins, but may be in progress at the time of application. Applicants should have at least a 3.0 bachelor's degree GPA and at least a 3.0 cumulative science GPA to be considered. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

@cac18 it might be worth it to contact admissions and ask them why you were rejected. You could tell them you'd like to know how you could improve your chances and make your app better for next time. Did you apply to any other programs?

Anyone know if I need to complete that midterm report for classes I'm currently taking if I'm already finished with the prereqs? I'm taking some classes at a CC but they're for another school I got into. But yes @mma22664 I would reach out directly to the AD of Admissions (call or email her). She's super nice and helpful!
