Yay! Got into the PNP program. So excited! I spent all morning crying, unable to click the link because I was so nervous. Jeeze.

Columbia Post-RN DNP Program
I live and work in the city. Did you apply/do you plan to apply anywhere else? I'm thinking of applying to NYU for Fall if CU doesn't work out.

I applied for PNP! Do you live in the city?

I also had tech issues with those portions- and the directions were all over the place! In some sections it said there would be two questions, in another it said three, and then it ended up being far less stressful than expected. I got super anxious for no reason but it made me delay doing it for a long time. Something about that countdown.... 😳 glad it's done though!

NewYork Presbyterian ED interview
I work at CHONY so can only speak to our environment, but the ER RNs seem to worked like dogs. The area around the West campus can be a little dodgy at night, but otherwise it's like any other part of Manhattan that isn't Midtown. Not sure what that other commenter was on about, but maybe they don't get out much. NYP as a whole definitely has its issues and can be understaffed, just like any other hospital. I've learned a ton here that I wouldn't have learned at a smaller healthcare system. Pros and cons :) If you have more specific questions, let me know! But I can really only speak for CHONY.

Columbia DNP/NYP-CU RN?
Does anyone know if being an NYP-employed nurse is helpful when applying to the DNP programs at Columbia? We occasionally receive e-mails about the case management MS program with the footnote that NYP nurses will have preferential treatment with their applications. Just curious if anyone in the CU/NYP world has ever overheard any gossip along these lines... :) thanks!

Advice on RN Salary NYC
Not the OP but I was hired at NYP with 1 year experience and make between 90-94k on the NOC shift. New grads make about the same, maybe a grand or two less. Benefits are all through NYSNA, our union.

VCU ABSN Question
I definitely don't recommend it. The program is full-time and sometimes I barely felt like I had enough energy to be a care partner part-time (12-24 hours/week). I don't think I knew a single person working FT during the program.
