Clinic nurse to NP
I’ve been a nurse for two years now but only in a cardiology clinic. I’m considering my masters and would like to go the NP route. Would it hurt me in end with not having any hospital experience?

Passed on the 3rd try: don't give up. This is what helped me.
Congratulations!!!

What do you mean I'm not a REAL nurse?!?
Thank you so much for this post because I questioned my role sometimes. Before I finished my nursing program I always said I don't think bedside nursing is for me but I still tried it anyway. I had to do CNA type work until I passed boards. I really didn't like my job at all. So I decided to go back to my old job a month later working in a cardiology office. I enjoy what I do there and still have the opportunity to use my nursing skills.

I believe once you get a good pop up you're in the clear. I checked my state's BON site multiple times once I had the good pop up and didn't have to pay for the quick results

Failed the NCLEX twice and now I don't want to be a nurse because of it!
Don't give up. You've completed nursing school so you're intelligent enough to pass the NCLEX. Have you tried studying a different way between the two exams? What are you using to study? Do you use any test strategies that are out there for the NCLEX? Have faith and try again!!

Nclex Study Tips Please!!
Hey I was just checking to see if you took your NCLEX yet? If so how'd it go?
- U world

U world
Yea that's what I was hearing too but I'm glad I didn't go in there thinking it was going to be easy just because I studied with uworld
-
U world
The screens look very similar. Some of the questions reminded me of uworld but I personally thought the NCLEX was harder than uworld

U world
I used Uworld only. I graduated at the end of May and just passed with 75 questions on Thursday 8/17. I bought the 30 Day subscription and did questions almost everyday. I still had about 800 questions left in the Qbank. I just wrote the rationales down to all the questions I answered incorrectly and some that I got right but wasn't really sure about.

NCLEX Post-Exam Trial Questions
It doesn't affect your pass or fail. I took 75 on Thursday and it asked me to take them. I decided to opt out and I still passed. The Pearson vie site states that they have survey questions at the end of their test now instead 15 included

Yes I most definitely pray for you! I can't wait to hear your passing story!

Nclex Study Tips Please!!
Yes give yourself as much time as you need. And don't get too hung up on the percentages on uworld just make sure you are understanding the rationales and why you may have picked the right or wrong answer. I can't remember the percentage that they considered a high chance but once you take the assessments you will get an idea of what I'm talking about. For the 35 page study guide just google 35 page nclex study guide and it should come up in some of the threads on this site. Good luck to you!

Nclex Study Tips Please!!
I signed up for the 1 month supscription and still had like 900 questions left in the q bank. Yes it comes with 2 assessments. I got a high chance on the first one and a very high chance in the second. I've seen some people say that they used it for 2 weeks and still passed. I will look for it and send it to you. And thank you

Nclex Study Tips Please!!
I studied using UWorld and I liked the rationales that it provides. I wrote all the rationales for the ones I got wrong and some that I got right and wasn't quite sure of. A few days before I stopped answering questions and just studied some rationales and studied some of the 35 page study guide someone posted on here. I took my test Thursday and it shut off at 75 questions. I did the PVT about 5-10 mins later because I recieved the email right away. I got the good pop up and last night my license was on the BON site. I'm sure you will do just fine. Just study and understand the rationales!!!

Passed my NCLEX-RN
Thank you! I wish schools wouldn't do that because I don't think it really is much of an indicator because the exit HESI isn't even like the NCLEX in my opinion.

Passed my NCLEX-RN
Super long post!!! I completed my ADN program on 5/26 and we had a 3 day live review through Elsevier. I honestly didn't find it very helpful. So my school required we attend that, have a 850 or higher on the exit HESI, and have a 16 on the CAT which is supposed to be like the mock boards and this was in order for them to pay for my boards the first time. During nursing school I was a B average student for the most part. The exit HESI I had to take 3 times since completing school because I just couldn't get that 850. I got a 823, 767, 837 and after that last test I said I wasn't taking the exit HESI again so the DON said I could take the CAT but I need to get a 17 well I tried that and got a 14 something. I cried and just felt so discouraged like I'm not going to pass my boards. So I finally decided to pay for UWORLD after joining the Facebook group. I did questions for about two weeks and retook the CAT, this time I got a 16.22. The DON released my info to the board of nursing. I scheduled my test for 8/17. I accepted a position at a hospital doing CNA work on third shift until I passed my boards. So I would answer uworld questions from 25-100/day. I would write the rationales for the ones I got wrong and the ones I got right but wasn't quite sure about. A few days before my test I stopped answering questions because I felt like my brain was tired so I reviewed a few rationales and some of the 35 page study guide someone posted. The day before my test I didn't do any studying at all but something that I enjoy! The day of my test I had my grandmother pray for me before I walked in. I sat down for my test wrote some biblical verses on the white erase board and few other inspirational words. My test shut off at 75 questions after 3 hrs. I walked out to my car and cried because I knew for sure I failed because I didn't feel like I knew the right answers to a lot of the questions. I did the trick right after I got the email and got the good pop up. The next day I was constantly checking the BON site for my license number and finally at 10:56 pm I seen my license number. Good luck to the future test takers!!!
