Has anyone applied to Sharp Chula Vista and had an update or email?

I also applied to Oncology CV and second choice Downtown

I applied Monday morning and also did not receive anything. Just an email thanking me for applying ?

@T.BSNOh, okay I see. Thank you for the input! I appreciate it! How did your simulation interview go?! My friend works there at SCV ED and he loves it! So best of luck to you!! I interviewed with SCV ICU yesterday. I originally applied for Sharp's Med-Surg/PCU unit's bc I thought I had a better chance at those versus a specialty. So I was surprised when the lady called me she told me that those units have been put on hold until further notice and if I was interested in the ICU position.

I'm also waiting on their application period :3 It was suppose to open on the first week of May I believe, but IDK if bc of the whole covid-19 situation it might have been pushed back? Not so sure

In my cohort, If I'm not mistaken I believe like 15-20 of us were alternates and we all got in. They literally called me like 2 days before class started. Everything happened so fast. So remember they can literally call you anytime from today and up to August to whatever the start day is. So just keep your mind distracted until then. Good luck ?

To all you alternates.. NEVER GIVE UP! Just like Naruto Uzumaki says Believe it! I graduated this year and was the last alternate on the list. Whatever happens in the end, I repeat do not give up. It will all be worth it in the end. There's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Best of Luck to all of you and your future endeavors.

Hi @kma89 I also do believe they are going to delay interviews. I have also not heard from them as well. Let’s keep each other posted if one hears from them yeah?:) I have a friend that works at SCV ED but he has not heard anything yet abt the New Grad Program. I also received an email today, but from my school. I guess Sharp is in need of Nursing/Respiratory Students. I’m not quite sure how it works, but I’ve already called and sent an email requiring an inquiry.

Oh that's nice of Memorial to at least keep you guys up to date with the current situation. I received an invitation to Self-Identify last week, but that's pretty much it. No word from Sharp CV or Grossmont, yet. But thank you for letting me know that it could possibly be within or more than 4 weeks! I am currently at Southwestern College and as far as I know the BRN states that we need 75% of actual clinical hours at a facility and 25% of it can be through an online simulation. But, with COVID-19 among us it's throwing everyone's rotation around. My professors have assured us that we will be graduating, but due to the current situation it might be pushed back. I know there's a petition going around right now that many nursing student's have signed to get the BRN to loosen up their regulations bc nobody was expecting this outbreak. I really do hope they change it that way we aren't impacted by this and get to graduate on time. What program are you in? And what has your school said about replacing your clinical hours?

Has your school said anything about being online for the rest of the semester? I'm starting to stress on the situation bc we just got word from one of our professors saying that the BRN is still enforcing clinical hours & preceptorships, thus having to extend the semester ? So we may not even be graduating in May bc of this whole ordeal. For my rotation I am also in my senior year and placed at Sharp and they have canceled on us until further notice. This will definitely back track everything.. unless Sharp is understanding of this situation *cries*

Has anybody heard back from any Sharp facility? or anyone that has applied to Chula Vista heard back from them? I wonder if they will lag a little on getting back to us with COVID-19 going on. ?

I just checked RN and my status has stayed the same to "under consideration", but the date has changed from Feb 17 (Date I applied) to March 3rd. Praying it's a good sign

Hi guys! I am about to graduate from my ADN program in May and have applied to Boise State. They are still in the process of evaluating my transcripts. I love to hear that it is doable for the working nurse bc as soon as I graduate I would like to start working. What is your guys advice as to how many units I should take per semester? Thanks in advance!!
