  1. Hi tyb104 I hope everything worked out with you, sorry you didn't get any answer on here. Do you have any updates? I'm in a similar situation with mbon. I was arrested for shoplifting in 2016 but then my case ended up getting a nolle prosequi and then I was able to get it expunged. When I applied for the NCLEX this year I said "no" because it was only asking for convictions. I also emailed the board member for background checks and she said it would be unlikely I get denied a license based on my case and if anything I just have to submit my expungement paperwork if they see something. But after reading your story I'm concerned. Did your case have no disposition? But you said it was dismissed? And how did your hearing go? I'd be so grateful for an update. Thanks for your time
  2. Hi, sorry to hear about your stress, I can relate. I have a similar story and have a chance in falling into the same situation as you. Do you have any updates? I wish you the best
  3. Hi I think I will be in a similar situation as you when I graduate in May. Any updates?
  4. Any updates? How did you apply for nclex and did MBON ask for any documents from you? I'm in a similar situation.
  5. @BladesMom Did the documents have to be sent directly by the court or did you just make copies of the documents you had? And does MBON only ask about convictions? I have an expunged nolle prosequi from being wrongly accused of shoplifting and i don't know if I will be asked to disclose that. Thanks!
  6. @kaykay17 Thanks for your response! Do you mind me asking more detail about your experience with MDBON and what your history was?
  7. Yes I've seen that link before. But thanks for your help!
  8. I have not found anything on the Mdbon website that answers my questions. The criminal background check FAQ I saw on the website was vague. Obviously the application itself will tell me but I do not have access to it without paying the $$$ fee and want to be as prepared as I can when it comes time to apply.
  9. Does the ATT and/or NCLEX application for Maryland only ask about convictions? Or do they also ask about arrests? And do they say to disclose expunged records? I have an expunged nolle prosequi (not a conviction) for shoplifting that I was wrongly accused of and I am worried about what I will have to report and if I will be able to sit for the boards when I graduate next year.
  10. Hi murse factor, I want able to find a paper copy I think you have to actually register to see the form. If you could give me the link or a screenshot that would be great!
  11. Hi Everyone, I have recently had my nolle prosequi for shoplifting expunged. I did not have to do any type of community service or pay a fine, my charge was simply nolle prossed. I am expecting to graduate in spring 2018 and from what I have read so far, I think I can still sit for the NCLEX and get my license. However I have emailed the Maryland BON and have gotten mixed responses about what/any documents I should provide. In one email, I was told to just provide my expungement letter. In another email, I was told I did not have to provide anything or address the arrest because my arrest did not lead to a conviction. Has anyone had experience with MBON with something like this? I don't want MBON to think I am lying/trying to hide my record, but I also do not want to disclose any unnecessary information. Also, what does the ATT or application for the NCLEX specifically ask about criminal records? Does it ask about arrests, convictions, or only arrests that lead to convictions? What must be disclosed? Thank You!
