  1. Chin up love! And ignore the ignorant! I've been a nurse for nearly 15 years. New grad with MSN/CNL certification and I WANT LTC to improve outcomes for our elders. No facility in my area is open to my position though, because of the MSN! Go figure! I've been terminated as well, after nearly 7 years of dedicated service. God closes doors and opens windows.
  2. Don't doubt yourself #1! I just graduated from grad school, after 10 yrs post ADN, with 10 yrs of experience. The fact is, most of us learn my seeing or doing. Do not talk to yourself in negative terms. Remain positive and you will succeed!
  3. Hi All. I became a RN in 2001; worked med-surg the first year, hemodialysis the next 2, and dermatology for 6. I became a full-time wife/mommy/student in 2010 and recently graduated with my MSN and passed the Clinical Nurse Leader certification. I have 2 interviews this week and am getting a bit nervous! Tomorrow is a very prestigious CCRC that has called me to interview for their DON/Clinical Mentor, and Thursday is a LTCF that is interviewing for the ADON position. Although I have worked with many elders in my career, and absolutely loved (most) of them, I have never worked in LTC, nor held a director's position, and have been out of the workforce for 5 years. I am starting to question my own capabilities! Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
