  1. I have a friend who is finishing up her first year at Mercer GBCN and she went into the program not knowing how she was going to be able to afford it. She tells me all the time how helpful the faculty and staff are with helping her find ways to pay or get scholarships. There are a TON of private donations made that help students who can not get loans or afford to pay up front. Please don't let the tuition scare you off! If your heart is set on KSU, please do not simply accept the denial letter. Call, email, ask questions - it's possible there was a mistake. I got a denial letter from UNG and was baffled because I was told I was pretty much guaranteed to get in with my stats...I emailed a respectful inquiry that showed I was paying attention and highlighted my determination. They emailed me back saying they re-evaluated my file and had miscalculated my GPA. Attached to that email was my acceptance letter. It does not hurt to ask! Good luck!!
  2. All the fingers crossed for you!
  3. Thank you! Traditional track. Have you received a decision? Good luck!!
  4. I'm in!! Got my acceptance letter this morning!
  5. Yes I have an interview. Just choose whichever day works best for you. If you're the type of person that doesn't like anticipation, choose the sooner date. If you feel you need more prep time, choose the later date.
  6. You have to consider your source. Was it someone from the admissions office, or your friend who is an education major? I've not personally heard of anything like that, but it seems like an odd requirement. Why put emphasis on the lab? My A&P II lab was kind of a joke.
  7. Yay! Congratulations!! Nice way to start the weekend!
  8. Same here. March has always felt really long to me, and this March will be no exception!
  9. I've created a Facebook group for our cohort! If you would like to join, please PM me so I can add you.
  10. I was invited for an interview and just received my follow up email to pick a date! Interview is scheduled for March 29th. I can not wait!
  11. You have to have your application fee in before they will make a decision. The May 1st deadline is the deadline for the entire application to be considered.
  12. Email and ask if there is an appeals process!! Ask what GPA they used/calculated. If there's any discrepancy, fight it!
  13. I guess it is possible. It certainly doesn't hurt to follow up with them and ask what went wrong. I can only imagine how many people just accept the decision and do not ask questions. Please follow up! Good luck!
  14. UPDATE: Short version - I'M IN for Gainesville!!!! Long version - The initial email I received stated my application could not be considered for one or more reasons, and listed the possible reasons. I emailed them asking what it was that made my application insufficient. They replied that the email was a mistake and they had in fact received everything. However, the email also stated I was not offered a seat because they use the Financial aid GPA for decisions. What!? Never heard of that. For the record I'm academic renewal, and I emailed back letting them know I was told my academic renewal GPA would be used. Lo and behold, I got a reply saying they re-examined my file and ACCEPTED ME!! Good luck to those still waiting! To those not accepted, DO NOT give up! Fight!!! Send an email asking how you can improve - be persistent and show you care! To those accepted, see ya in the fall!!
  15. Rejected! 3.5 GPA, 96 on HESI. Good luck to all!!
  16. Not yet! They emailed and said last week of February or first week of March. Last Spring, my friend received her decision email Feb 24th. We're so close!
  17. Anyone else getting emails from the Wellstar advising office? It's really throwing me off. Every time I get a message my heart skips a beat even though I know decisions won't come until end of March/early April.
  18. Hahaha! My decision was posted in about 10 days. Good luck!
  19. I was told just today that it will be late March/early April before decisions are made.
  20. I got an invitation to interview! I'll admit I was a little disappointed at first because I was just expecting a yes or no answer. However, I called and spoke with someone (I guess we can't post names here), and she told me I didn't meet the minimum cumulative GPA (because of grades from 14 years ago - I'm a non-traditional student at 33 yo), and they are wanting to give me a chance to tell my story and be able to holistically evaluate me. So, I feel much better about it. I posted my stats before with what my current university reports as my cumulative, not thinking about the fact that they are using my GPA after academic renewal. So here are the stats the GBCN admissions office are evaluating me on. Overall: 2.33 (yeah, 14 years ago was rough...haha) Transfer: 3.5 Science: 3.5 TEAS: 94.0
  21. I don't know if they necessarily WANT them, but it didn't hurt one of the applicants on this board who was accepted after submitting one. For those who have been accepted already, how did you find out? Did your application status just change online, did you receive an email, did you receive a letter in the mail, or a combo of any of these?
  22. Hi everyone, I also applied for Fall 2018. My GPA is 3.6 and I got a 96 on the HESI, so I'm hopeful! Good luck to you all!
