Longest you’ve gone without having to give pee?
I've tested once since my contract went into effect and it's been three weeks since I've had to screen. This can't be normal.

Meetings
Probably could log and leave. I thought about that as well and then wondered if there was some kind of way they could track how long you were actually there.

Meetings
I'm required to attend two a week in addition to my nurse support group, after care and therapy. That's five obligations/meetings a week. We use affinity/spectrum and have to log in at the meeting. GPS logs your location. Sometimes I get something out of those meetings and sometimes I don't. I resent them less than the aftercare which is an hour of shooting the **** and a total waste of my time. .

GI lab?
Thanks! I've got 6 months, too. I applied to a GI lab job today.

GI lab?
I don't have any experience or know any nurses who have worked in a GI lab. Is this an area a nurse with narcotic restrictions could work in?

Weight loss supplements
Flexiril and zofran aren't allowed in my state unless an addictionologist sees you and okays it.

Weight loss supplements
Absolutely! I have a perianal abscess. Right now. Mofo HURTS. I've been trying to manage it myself here at home. Lancing, sitz baths, and a round of oral antibiotics that I was put on for an inguinal abscess. Inguinal is nearly gone, other one still raging. I'm trying not to go back to the doctor because having my meds verified has been such an absolute pain in the butt. Despite knowing this could result in a fistula and despite worries about WHY all of a sudden I'm getting these abscesses I am putting off needed medical treatment.

Weight loss supplements
My gynecologist has me on birth control pills to manage my adenomyosis. I had to have that med verified. Ridiculous to have to do so for hormonal meds. I also do not have a dentist. I've been blessed with good teeth and it's to my advantage because I'm terrified of the dentist...had a traumatic experience as a child. They made me fill out a release of info based on a dentist I WOULD go see if I HAD to. I found it so silly that I had to have my hormonal birth control in the system and verified but I went ahead and did it because I signed a release of information for my pharmacy and didn't want to get in trouble if TNPAP went snooping around and looking at the meds my pharmacy has on file for me.

Weight loss supplements
Bah. I only need to lose 5-10 pounds. I'll just keep to calorie counting.

Weight loss supplements
Are there any safe weight loss supplements for those of us being monitored out there? I feel like I just need a kickstart.

TNPAP
I'm a TNPAP participant. What I'm going to tell you will save you a lot of stress, time, and money. Don't do the evaluation. Go ahead and admit yourself inpatient to an approved rehab facility. An evaluator is going to cost you $400-900. It will slow your progress getting in to treatment. The sooner you complete treatment the sooner you can get back to work.

Likelihood of vinaigrette causing false positive?
My monitoring agreement was just activated yesterday. I've read through the handbook and am well aware of what foods to avoid to prevent a false positive. Last night was my first weekly nurse support meeting. My husband called right before it started asking if I wanted him to pick something up and what did I want. I rushed him off the phone and told him just get with the kids and figure it out. Meeting ends right as he gets home. He's brought a sandwich from a local place. As we're eating I tell him my MA has been activated and he jokes about is my food safe to eat. I pause and examine it and realize the lettuce on the sandwich tastes vinaigrette-y. My daughter texts her friend who works at the restaurant and sure enough they use a vinaigrette on it. Any experiences with this?

is it hard to get a job after two years off of nursing?
Curious...do the programs you guys are/were in not require you to work in the field of nursing for a predetermined number of consecutive months before they will let you out of your monitoring contract?

What to say?
If you feel that way just tell them you had a personal matter. Personally I feel like it doesn't do people any good to keep quiet on these issues but I respect people's wishes to remain private. It is a personal choice. Typically when you say something to the effect of it being a personal matter people won't probe but be aware that likely people have already been talking and making assumptions.

Managing screens and work
For some crazy reason I had it in my head that we weren't allowed to work nights but I looked back at the agreement and it isn't listed as a no-no. So that could be the answer for me.

Managing screens and work
That was my thought. The only experience in nursing I have is working in a hospital. No way would that fly where I have previously worked.
-
Managing screens and work
I'm guessing to start your day and check in asap. Still, if you can't even donate until 7:30 or 8 and the lab closes at say 5p, how do you get there to provide a sample if you're working that day?

Managing screens and work
Just curious how you all manage to get your drug screens complete while working. I should be signing my monitoring agreement this week and was looking ahead to whenever I am finally working again. LabCorp seems to be where I'll have to go and they are only open during business hours. I'm concerned how to get in and pee if I'm working that day.

Help! What's next?
A hair follicle test along with a IDS will help. Do it. I'm about to sign a contract with TNPAP.

school while being monitored
Yes. I am new to all of this but that's my understanding. If I comply with the monitoring the board does not get involved.

school while being monitored
It's my understanding that I will not be reported to the board of nursing. I will have restrictions on passing narcotics and where I can work for the next three years. I'm not looking at even applying to the NP program for a year. I'm just wondering, would one even be passing narcotics in NP school? I can't imagine. My situation very well may be a problem for me, though I've heard of others doing it.

school while being monitored
I'm not supposed to have a mark on my license. My monitoring program does require I inform any university of my being monitored. The school I'm looking at is conservative/Christian. I have a great GPA, good references, and am competitive academically. I just wonder if they'll decline me due to my current situation.

school while being monitored
Looking at my options regarding school for when I get back from my rehab facility. Any of you do school while monitored? I'm interested in psych NP but know I'll be required to let the school know I'm in the monitoring program? Is that usually a problem?

About to start recovery process, some questions
Made a new account for this forum even though I don't post much under my other one. Some questions. I had a UDS and it's going to be postitive. I do have a problem. I do want help. I'm going to self report at work before my UDS comes back. It'll be delayed some I'm sure because of the long weekend with Memorial Day. When I report I know they'll have questions and they'll be looking at my charting, med pulls, etc. I did divert waste. If if I admit that, and I don't know how not to because that's the drug in my system, will they have me arrested? My spouse is telling me not to admit to diversion but just say I got it from a friend due to fear I'll be arrested. My gut is telling me to just be honest and they'll refer me to the states monitoring program. I'll actually hold my other questions for now.
