2019 Fall Enrollment for Nursing (Hillsborough Community College)
It does, we won’t find out til mid-June. But hopefully it goes by fast. Goodluck on the TEAS! It wasn’t too bad but the science portion really kicked my butt, luckily we just need above a 60 overall. Last I heard, they still had Dale Mabry evenings but who knows with the curriculum changes. Here’s the info: HCC Bookstore Price for textbook bundle: $1200 Amazons Price (excludes the iCare access code): Currently $825.27 (Price has gone up by about $150 since I bought it but you have to purchase iCare on top of that (extra $195) so you would be at about $1025 buying it yourself between amazon and buying the last access code separate from the website so save yourself $175 and get it off amazon Scrubs where about $170 for me. I bought 3 tops 3 bottoms 1 jacket and all three tops as well as the jacket were embroidered There were 3 other recommended books totaling $126.20 on amazon currently (I think one of them is Fundamentals Success) Badges cost about $25 for one complete set for all 4 semesters Need a stethoscope (that depends on your budget) A fellow HCC nursing student gave me this info, it helps to get some insight on how much money we’ll be spending. ?

Hello! I’m also applying for HCC’s nursing program for Fall 2019. I submitted my application last week and now I’m just waiting for the deadline to pass. I’m hoping for Southshore campus. ? Btw, I also got some info in regards to costs and supplies we may need for the program. I can post that here if you’d like!

Does anyone see the conditional acceptance forms on the emails? I can't seem to find them! As for the FB page, unfortunately I can't make one since I need to add a member to the group first.

SCF Nursing Fall 2018
HCC has their nursing program available at the Dale Mabry, Plant City, and Southshore campuses. I believe Plant City and Dale Mabry both have a night/weekend option but I know Dale Mabry has it for sure. And I know, I'm so anxious to start again. It'll be time before we know it!

SCF Nursing Fall 2018
So you guys...I was thinking. HCC's Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants currently have an FB group in which all potential students join for updates and such in regards to their program. I'm currently a part of their group and while I don't post often due to my busy schedule, many of the members post plenty of useful information and updates in regards to the nursing program. It's also another way for us to keep in touch. :) Would anyone be interested in joining a FB group for SCF Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants if I were to create one?

SCF Nursing Fall 2018
I'm also applying to Hillsborough Community College's nursing program. I was actually a former nursing student in their program last year but had to withdraw due to personal reasons. Their program is really great, I have former classmates who are in their summer session now and will be graduating this upcoming December. They offer a BSN concurrent program with USF that starts the second semester of the program but those classes have to be paid out of pocket due to students not being able to receive financial aid from two schools at the same time. While I enjoyed HCC, my first choice is SCF due to their NCLEX pass rates. I think HCC in in the low 80s for theirs. Two more days everyone!

Hello! I applied back in April with a 4.0 pre-req GPA and a 4.0 overall GPA. I have completed all 9 courses and I am hoping to get accepted to the Bradenton campus. :) So far, I'm holding up pretty well but I can't wait for May 25th! I wish everyone the best of luck!

I'm pretty sure they got it, it just sounds like they are taking their time processing applications. Just keep busy for now you have nothing to worry about. I also dropped my application off at DM so you should be good!

Wow! So much has been going on since I last posted. 500 applicants is such a crazy number I can't believe it! But my pre-reqs updated and they are now recieved I turned my application in on May 4th around the end of the day.

I'd like to see the list as well. It'll help me get an idea of what books we would need as well as their costs.

I'm still waiting for my documents to update, my pre-reqs are still under review. So far, everything is going well! Kind of stressed about my general chemistry class since it's pretty fast paced however, it's keeping my mind off of this long wait so it's a good thing at least.

Yay! Another Southshore hopeful! I'm also aiming for Southshore so hopefully we'll be classmates!

Definitely! I follow this amazing nurse on instagram (@futurenp_) who is documenting her life as she goes through her program towards becoming a nurse practitioner. Everytime she posts I get even more inspired and motivated to become an NP! :) It might be a challenging journey, but we can all truly achieve anything we set our minds to!

I'm interested in something among the lines of women's health (OB/GYN). :) I also plan on continuing my education at USF and becoming a nurse practitioner as well.

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017
Turned my application in on May 4th, all received except for the pre-reqs which are still under ASAP Not Recieved and Under Review. Last name starts with an A. So I'm looking at the estimated expenses for the nursing books, lab fees, etc. Kind of anxious about all that since I'm aiming to pay out of pocket with my savings and I didn't realize all these costs could add up so fast! Oh well, it'll be worth it in the end. If there's a will, there's a way! Here's to hoping we all get that acceptance letter ladies!

Definitely! I'm so anxious about the application process and the deadline hasn't even passed yet. ;_; I'm so impatient when it comes to things like this! But it's nice to be able to talk with all you guys and share this experience :) it helps a lot and I get to meet my potential nursing classmates!

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017
Hey corinnepaige91, Congrats on the move! So glad you'll be close by for study groups I live near Riverview as well so we'll definitely be able to meet up for studying! As for part-time job ideas, I currently work at Home Depot and they are very flexible with scheduling when it comes to school. I have a co-worker who is currently only working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday due to his demanding school schedule so Home Depot may be a place you could look into if you don't mind a cashier position. The pay is also pretty decent for part-time and they are currently hiring. :) If I think of any other part-time job ideas I'll let you know!

Hillsborough Community College Fall 2017
Agreed! It was definitely hit or miss on the science portion. I thought that I was very well prepared for the science section but I felt like everything that I studied wasn't even on it. It was my lowest score but still passing so I'm good with that.

Thanks! And you're definitely right about that, I'm so glad that HCC only needs a 60 or above overall on the TEAS! I actually ran out of time on the math portion and thought that I was done for but surprisingly math was one of my highest scores so I'm very grateful about that!
