  1. love the idea! I use care maps (brain maps) for care needs in my clinical courses and students find them helpful. I never thouoght to expand them.
  2. Fast forward....2015-I took the educators course from Church Health Center with the intent to continue to teach faith nursing. 2016-since my educator's training, I modified the existing course, and have developed and teach Faith Community Nursing online! I am a nursing professor at Miami Dade College in Miami Florida. We continue to offer Faith Community Nursing as an elective in our RN-to-BSN program. Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive. I am a product of a 1970's diploma program, we were told never to discuss religion or politics. How sad --this is not stated now, but curriculum rarely addresses it! My students tell me that they feel unprepared for any spiritual care. I would love to see faith nursing covered in entry level RN programs. I teach obstetrics-what better place to discuss faith and belief then in the miracle of life??
  3. Recently re-named The Westberg Institute, same IPNRC, but tribute to Granger Westberg. Also name changed to Faith Community Nursing and is now an ANA certified specialty for nurses! Praise God! How can we be providing 'wholistic' patient care, when we obviously ignore the spiritual and faith side of a patient's life??
