Palomar Health New Grad Residency 2020
Same here. Most of mine say new and 2 say in process, but not sure exactly what that means. Hopefully it’s a good sign and we will get a call back for an interview.

Has anyone heard anything back regarding their application?

Palomar Health nurse residency fall 2019
Hi everyone! I wanted to know if you could give me a little advice on the hiring process for Palomar. I applied on November 19th and all but 2 of my applications still say “New.” The other 2 say “In Process,” but what does that mean? I’ve reached out to other forums and FB groups and everyone no ones status has changed from “New.” Im hoping that’s a good thing that my status has changed, but still so anxious because no one is hearing anything back and it’s been close to a month since applying. Im hoping someone on this thread can give me advise. Thanks

Hi Jim. If you were accepted as an alternate from cohort 52, you are automatically guaranteed acceptance for cohort 53. Therefore there was no deferral needed, unless you were actually accepted into cohort 52 (not as a alternate, but an actual acceptance) and decided to wait. If that is the case, just curious as to why you would defer? Really great scores by the way. Congratulations!

I prepared by really thinking about why I wanted to be a nurse. Then I chose what my best personal quality traits were and wrote about them with examples. It has to be a complete 5 paragraph essay so I wrote a "mock" essay prior and timed myself. You will need to be cautious about your time. I used up the entire hour.

I don't mind sharing. Here's the break down. My GPA: 3.94 = 39.4 points. (3.94 x 4 / 40% = .394 x 100 = 39.4) My TEAS: 78.7 = 31.48 points. (78.7 x 40% = 31.48) My Essay: 5 = 20 points. (5 / 5 = 1 x 20% = .2 x 100 = 20) My total points: 90.88

What was your GPA and TEAS scores if you don't mind me asking?
-
National University SD Cohort 52
Mine still says submitted. What does that mean?

I asked her today and she told me 153 applied, but they have had quite a few no shows for the TEAS so those that didn't show count as a decline. So the number has gone down, but she won't know for sure the actual number until after tomorrow.

So I didn't do any better on my TEAS, In fact I got the same score as I did before (78.7%). I'm not too confident about it, but my GPA is strong at 3.94 so maybe that will make up the extra points lost as well as a good essay score. Good luck to everyone.

I was told the essay is a typical 5 paragraph essay and to make sure you answer the prompt. From what I have been hearing, the prompt is generally about why you want to do nursing or why you would be a good nurse. So more or less make the essay personal. I did a google search and found a website that calculates it and input my grades and units they were worth. Don't forget the labs are included.
