  1. Hello all, I was wondering if any of you have looked at Mnt. Hood's estimated program cost and new what all these extra fees were for. PCC's run down isn't nearly as pricey. Mnt. Hood estimates $5,000 for lab, clinical, and standardized test fees. Lab fess I get but what are the clinical fees and what standardized tests (the NCLEX is listed a separate item so it's not that)?
  2. itstess, Thank you for this offer. I am new to this site and can't for the life of me figure out how to pm you. I thought clicking your name would give me the option to but it didn't. Would you mind pming me to get a thread started?
  3. I was accepted! Has anyone been to the nursing school for a tour or has anyone met with any of the faculty? I really love the idea of being done in 15months but the price tag makes me very nervous. Also, it's hard to know if a school is a good fit when all communication is done via email. Has anyone talked to graduates or current students of the ABSN program? If so what have they said about the program?
  4. Congratulations Jeni!
  5. I was told I was in the top 15 but not given a specific number. Mindy had said that they were not hearing back from those accepted. Which makes me that they may be moving through the waitlist quickly.
  6. Hey! I got an email today with the good news that I've been accepted to Linfield's program. Keep an eye out on your inboxes and best of luck!
  7. I appreciate you telling me this. I knew nothing was written in stone but I thought 3/3 interview selection among the community colleges boded well. I need to remain optimistic as well as realistic. I definitely understand why CNAs and LPNs get some extra points on the application and how their experience will help them during the interview process. However, I really hate the idea of having to pay for CNA or LPN certification just to better my chances of getting into a program. It's just more money and more time for a certification I don't need or really want. My OHSU interview is at 8:00am, I must be the group right before yours.
  8. Yes, I applied to OHSU, PCC, Clackamas, and Mnt. Hood. I have interviews/essays lined up for all of them. I also have my OHSU interview next week, on the 20th. I haven't emailed Mindy, I didn't realize that was an option, but now that I do I will definitely give her a shout. Linfield would be my first choice if it weren't so expensive, 120K for 15 months of education is really steep. However, being done in 15months and being able to work soon after is ideal. Things to ponder.
  9. Hi Jeni07, Is this the Linfield nursing program in Portland, OR? If so I am also waitlisted.
