@mgh3478 thank you! You're so fast and awesome at responding. Do they determine location and rotations by location of the students. I'm in cohort 4 and were evening at the Marin General. I really want to do rotations at the SFG because of the mental health there. Also do you know what KTD rehab is ?

Hello everyone. A few questions. How do we create the cohorts fb pages and second, is anyone else having issues ordering their uniforms with the code?

@mgh3478 Are you able to start the U of Phoenix during the summer of the first and second year? I was not able to attend the info session.

@cz11 We all got emails and after you accept or deny they will send out paper work for a welcome information packet.

@Hawaiilala I was born and raised in Hawaii on Oahu and graduated from Kaimuki High School and lived in Washington for a while. I miss the food! Congrats everyone!!!! Now just the paper work...

@jiowa12 When did students start hearing from the office? What is your experience like and do you know of students being able to join U of Phoenix during the end of the 1st year and beginning the second year? Where are the clinical locations and when did those start? OH AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHAT ARE THE CLASS SCHEDULES LIKE? Incase for those of us that need to work? Thank you so much for all your help and is there anything else we should know or anticipate?

@dubnation and @couragetoheal Yes, let's talk about rooming and living situations :). Also getting to know one another too. I believe that the response is that some people are going to not be so inclined as to completing the program if they are not mentally or emotionally ready for it; or other reasons being. People drop out or don't make it till the end. I just came from an LVN program and it was NEW...NEW...NEW!!! There were a lot of bugs to work out the curriculum that needed to be addressed, how people learned and what they taught and how. Pretty much what I have come to find out and being in the medical field and work field a long time, it really is up to you. In nursing they will teach you so far in the program, but after clinicals and on the floor...IT'S SO DIFFERENT! School gives you the basic concepts of what to know and clinicals help you to somewhat apply it. When you get out of school and study and pass the NCLEX (which pretty much makes sure you know the concepts and information of being a nurse) you completely take on a whole new world of learning. Academics and application are different. Probably some didn't study or expected it to be hand held education. You literally have to work to find answers and seek them out. Nursing school is no joke because I have a lot of NP friends and friends who are nurses. You need to have a humble heart, STRONG mindset, and be open minded. Stress has to be handled with ease and dignity and know when to center yourself and mind to be able to dictate your actions and decisions properly. You have to really want it and want it for the right reasons. I'm going to email you two and hopefully get this ball rolling. BTW anyone take the TEAS on Thursday at 1pm? I was there!

@Dubnation @Jaznurse Did they state that they would start contacting people next week? I'm excited but really want to make sure to get all my ducks in a row. Did any of you get your other items like immunizations, background check, etc? I'm still going through the hand book but has anyone done so?

@MsSofia_FutureRN Research as much as you can. I found that there was a lot of information in my nursing handbook that I went to and that provided me with a lot of information. It took me 10 years to find a way to get into my nursing program. If you really believe and want something, you'll find a way and you'll get help in ways you never thought possible. I'm 30 and wanted this for a while. Not everyone has the same life, story or experiences. Whatever works for you, do it and take action to do so. If you're in CA you get get help with CalWorks if you meet certain income requirements for help with food. You can do side jobs to meet income requirements and there is pet sitting where they just stay in your home on craigslist. There is a plethora of options. Be positive and open minded. Knowing you can do it and accomplish it, and that you deserve it while taking proper action is key. Good luck. What state are you in?

@couragetoheal @dubnation Me too...house mates please. Anyone have low numbers (under 36), passed the TEAS and going to accept? Please let us know :) We can maybe start a forum on this or something of the sort.

@Naraiza Hi, do you mean they don't expect some of the students to pass the TEAS or accept admissions to the school if they applied else where? I am in the low 20s and "BY GEORGE," I know I'll pass and accept. I believe they go by lottery number and those that pass will be offered admission in order if they pass the TEAS. It's a random lottery as I'm guessing by reading and they take the first 43 that are in the order of lottery, pass the TEAS and accept. Do they take into consideration the percent you got on the chancellor's excel sheet or did that determine if we are placed in the lottery or not? I do do wish everyone luck and those who really want to go to Marin, will do so. Others will be accepted elsewhere, etc. As for myself, this is my heart, my time, and my turn. Marin is my choice.
