  1. I am sorry you are dealing with that type of environment. I recently went through a similar situation, and also ended up leaving. I had multiple interviews over the course of a couple of weeks, and honestly, references never once came up in conversation. I ended up getting three offers, so my fears were unwarranted. However, I did have a response in mind in case it did come up and I had basically planned to tell them that I prefer they don't contact THAT manager because the relationship was fragile since putting in my resignation. Also, putting in a year at one position and then 2 at another is not considered job hopping, and you have legitimate reasons for leaving each of them. I wish you the best of luck in your job search. I hope you find somewhere that is fulfilling, rewarding, and definitely NOT toxic!
  2. While it didn't appear that any of them put up a fight for me, they all did seem interested in hiring me. They asked me to reach out to my HR recruiter and set up a day for me to shadow each of their units, then decide which one I'd like to work on. They told me they hope to hear from me soon, so that seems promising to me! I do, however, have an interview with the float pool manager at the same hospital tomorrow, so my fingers are crossed for that!
  3. I know this is a super old post, but I always enjoy reading your replies Ruby! Thanks for sharing your wisdom.
  4. Thank you for your response! I try to always be well prepared for interviews to decrease the anxiety, but this is a whole new experience for me.
  5. Hi all. So this week I am interviewing with 4 managers from different step-down units within the same hospital, all at the same time. While I have done "panel" interviews before, it has never been with managers from different units at the same interview. Has anyone ever experienced this before? Any tips, suggestions, etc. for making it the best interview possible? Thanks in advance!
  6. Congratulations and best of luck to you!
  7. I went into the float pool straight out of school. It was tough as a new nurse, but I learned A LOT and gained valuable experience. I agree with previous posters; go for it! And you are absolutely correct about getting out of your comfort zone. Best of luck to you!
