Wichita State pre-nursing questions
I am about to be a mid-life freshman. After being an LVN in Texas for several years, my license is now inactive and the logistics of activativing it here are a nightmare. Plus, I haven't worked in so long, it's just not worth it. I'm in the process of applying to WSU as a prenursing major. I've debated between here, Butler and another independent program. Im curious if anyone can tell me roughly how many apply and how many are accepted into the program for each new rotation? I'm seriously worried about keeping up with people half my age and still be competitive.

Which program do I pursue at age 44?
I'm looking to start over after being an LVN in Texas years ago. My license is inactive, in good standing. Rectivating it is a logistical nightmare because I moved to a compact state. It's not worth it to get that license back, especially when I haven't worked in over 10 years. I want to get my BSN now that my kids are getting older. Im looking at 3 options. All have positives and huge negatives. So I'm asking for help. Option 1 is a local community college. It's the cheapest. I can get my Associates, but I'd be finishing right about the time all local hospitals will be forcing ADNs to get their BSN or leave the hospital setting. I know I can bridge, but that makes the process that much longer. Option 2 is a traditional 4 year university. The most expensive option. Obviously the most direct route. However, competition is fierce and I do worry how competitive my old self would be against 20 year olds. And honestly, at this age, I don't have the time to apply year after year. Option 3 is an accredited "for profit" school that offers a BSN degree. My credits would actually transfer if I hated it. It's just a little cheaper than the 4 year college (only because of a military discount). They do give me about 9 hours of credit for LVN and they guarantee 5 spots in their BSN program from students who are bridging. But, I've heard some good things and some not so good things, especially about financial aid and them finding new ways to get you spend money. I want my degree to be taken seriously. (I did verify that they are accredited by the same people who accredit the other schools, so that's a plus, but the negative things I hear still make me nervous.) its time to enroll, so any advice/experience would be helpful and much appreciated.

Back to School at 44
Y'all. I'm beside myself with nerves. I've been out of school for just over 25 years! The exception being one year of LVN school about 17 years ago. My license is in "inactive" status in good standing due to being a stay at home mom for the pst several years. Now, I'm looking to start over. My LVN license won't really do me any good as it's inactive, I now live in a new state and it was done through a hospital based program which means no college credit awarded. I've applied to 2 school (jr college and a 4 year university) to begin pre-reqs this fall. I'm scared. Math will be death of me. I have to take placement tests since my SATs are so old and I'm also paranoid about the TEAS. I just need any advice anyone can offer. Am I too old for this? Any all advice, words of wisdom are appreciated.

How old is everyone?
I'm new here and an oldie. I'm 43, almost 44. I'm about to start pre-reqs. Debating doing an ADN vs BSN program here in Wichita, KS. I was previously an LVN (in another state) for a few years before becoming a stay at home mom. Now, I'm ready to go back and pursue my RN. Scared of being back in school after so many years!
