Seventh Day Adventist and working on Sabbath???
I have a really close friend (ACNP) who is Seventh Day Adventist. I asked her about her beliefs on working on the Sabbath and she said she believes that it is okay because Jesus also healed on the Sabbath. Hope this helps a little.

Nursing and the Sabbath
My religion doesn't really allow even health care providers to work on the Sabbath unless its a life or death emergency, and even then, I would have to give all that days pay to the church. If I could come in on the Sabbath and not get paid for it, that would even work better, but I don't think that's an option.

Nursing and the Sabbath
Hello everyone, I'm starting my career in the medical field as a STNA in 2 months. I plan on becoming an pediatric acute care nurse practitioner. Because of my faith, I cannot work on Sundays. I really am passionate about being an ACNP, but I am scared to death that i wouldn't get hired because of my beliefs. I would be willing to work any type of schedule to make up for the Sundays I couldn't work. I would also be able to come in on Sundays only if there is a major emergency (earthquake, freeway pile up, ect) What are your all's thoughts? Do you think a hospital would be willing to work with my religious beliefs?

Nursing school advice
Hello, I am starting STNA class this June as my first step in my nursing career. I plan on working as an STNA in a children's hospital while in nursing school. My goal is to be an Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. I am really excited to start nursing school as I am very passionate about the medical field. This question is directed to nursing students, what is one thing you would highly recommend me to do that you wish you would have been told when you started nursing school?
