  1. I am interested in becoming certified through Aesthetic Enhancement International Institute in Botox injections, but I am having difficulty finding if NY RN's can do this. Someone please let me know before I spend money on getting certified. Thank you all.
  2. I just wanted to share that I passed the NCLEX!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I went to 200 questions and had over 30 multiple responses, but I am now an RN. Also, I did the Pearson trick and it was accurate, but I have a tip for NY students. Rather than pay for the quick results from Pearson in 48 hours, go to http://www.op.nysed.gov/opsearches.htm, which is the NYS Office of the Professions and search for your name 48 hours later. My name was on the website with my license number before my results were available through Pearson. Also, I have to say that BMCC has the toughest nursing program in NYC, but they really prepared me for NCLEX, best program hands down! Good luck to all future takers!
  3. Hi, athena: I have met with my instructors and they are really not much help. All they tell you is to practice more questions and read the text. I have gone to the tutors but it has been a waste of time because they are also students and they help you to understand the material, which I do not have trouble with, but they aren't much help as far as strategies to passing these exams. I have classmates that have graduated from elites schools, such as Colombia University, Duke, and NYU and they are also struggling in the program and cannot ace these exams. It is so disheartening. Thank you for your advice.
  4. Thank you jjjoy, your advice does make sense. I am glad I am not the only one who has felt like this. It is so true that you end up selecting answers that make sense to you, but then the professor has their own rationale, which tends to only make sense to them and does not reflect what you have studied. I will definitely look at the exam and choose my answers differently. Thank you.
  5. Hi, all: I need help. I am in an intensive evening nursing program and I am repeating my third semester which is half Med-Surg and Peds. I should be in my fourth and final semester, but I had to repeat due to my really bombing in Peds. We have to take 3 exams in each half, (3 Peds and 3 Med-Surg) and each exam is worth 10%. Our final exam is cumulative and is worth 40%. I thought that repeating this semester would be easier, but I am finding it just as hard. We just had our first exam on the respiratory system and I bombed. Last semester I actually did well on this particular exam. Next up is our cardiovascular exam followed by endocrine system and then dreaded Peds begins. I was always an A student and now I am receiving C's. I study, study, study and do all types of practice questions and do well on those, but the school exams are much harder and I could never find a book with questions that are similar to the school questions. I do not know where these professors find these questions! If anyone has suggestions, feedback or successful ways to study, please tell me. I have never felt stupid but nursing school has destroyed my confidence and I am so anxious and scared to fail an exam because I am always playing catchup. What makes it even more stressful is that since I am repeating I now have to pass by four more points than the regular average. Thank you for reading my rant and thank you for your help.
  6. Just finished my first semester at BMCC in NYC and I am extremely happy. Will be beginning second semester in another week, which is OB and Psych. I can already feel the butterflies, but I am looking forward to it. Three more semesters and I will be graduating in '09. :spam:
  7. Glad to join. I start tomorrow @ BMCC in NY. I hope we all rock those A's. Good luck to all.:pumpiron:
