  1. Hey everyone! I am applying for the Spring 2018 AO BSN program! The deadline is fast approaching... I am so nervous about getting in because I am not partnered. I do have a previous degree from UTA so I am hoping that it helps my chances! Stats: Previous degree GPA:3.7 Science:4.0 Not partnered I took the HESI A2 test today on campus. I figured I would post a couple of tips for last minute test takers such as myself: Math:Make sure that you study fractions, fractions and oh yeah, fractions. It was the majority of the questions on my test. Also ratios came up a lot too, oddly. Lastly, unit conversion was a big component of the test as well...i.e. Liters to OZ, Grams to ML, etc. I suggest brushing up on those three things and you should be fine. Grammar: The questions were mainly as such: Bill and Sally went to the store to by a loaf of bread. Which word or part of the sentence is incorrect? A. by B. Bill and Sally C.bread This part was pretty straight forward. My strategy was to read the sentences quietly to myself (because omg that room was soooo quiet I felt loud breathing in there lol) and then figure out what was wrong. Vocab: This was pretty straight forward as well. The questions were mainly nursing related questions such as: The nurse walked into the room and gave the patient a comprehensive examination. In this sentence, what does the word comprehensive mean? A. Thorough B. blah C.blah D.blah Reading comprehension: Read the paragraphs and answer questions about them. Mainly questions asking about what the author is implying or summarize the paragraph or what does "this word" mean in "this paragraph." I can tell you all this. I didn't study. I worked overnight and then went straight into the test dead tired and I made the following grades: Reading-96 Vocab-96 Grammar-95 Math-96 I am telling you this because people stress about this test for no reason. If you can pass Chem, you can take this test with your eyes closed. It was a piece of cake and to get into the nursing program you have to make a minimum of a 75%. Each section has 55 questions. It took me roughly 2.5 hours to finish the test. Plan on spending the majority of time reading those paragraphs...I would suggest taking that section first because you will feel like you really just want to get out of that room by the time you finish with that section. Good luck ya'll! Feel free to contact me with any questions!
