Greenville Tech ADN Fall 2017
Hello! There has not been a new thread started for the current application class this year. Now the application deadline is over, I thought I would make a thread to have company in the dreadful waiting process. (WHY IS 8 WEEKS NECESSARY?!) So to those who applied to GTC for the Fall 01, Fall 02, Spring 01 cohorts (deadline was May 15th), how many points did you have and what are you most excited/nervous about? I had 156 points. I'm most excited about moving to Greenville and hopefully starting nursing school, I'm most nervous that I won't get in or will only be accepted for the spring term.

Spartanburg Community College Acceptance
Hi @Nurse17H! So it's not exactly that there's a number of points that is accepted or rejected, it's more like there's a certain number of spots and then all the candidates are ranked in a list from highest points to lowest to fill those spots, so the number of points it takes to get in changes every year and depends on the number of openings and all the other candidates. If it's like other programs, the students who were next after the cut-offs would be on a list to take the spots of the accepted students who don't take their spot. From what I read on other boards the scores to get in are usually in the 30s-40s, so we are both kinda on the edge, historically speaking. According to one poster, it was 39 in 2015, but that's the only like for sure number that I have found, but you're super close so I would say you have a pretty good chance! If you do end up right below the cut-off, I'm planning on choosing GTC over SCC if I get into both (I really want to do my RN-BSN at Clemson and they have a pretty good history of moving students right into their program), so that would be one spot that you could move into. :)

Emory BSN Fall 2017
Hi! I decided last minute to take a chance and go ahead and apply. I just finished up my application yesterday so it is super last minute. I don't think I'm going to get in and all my other applications have been to community/tech ADN programs in SC, but I think Emory is such a great school and I love the Atlanta area so I figured the worst they could say is no! Again probably not going to be accepted but here's my stats: 1470 SAT (CR+M) 96.7 TEAS I uploaded my scores from the time I took the GRE because my reading score was in the 91st percentile, but my other scores were only in the 40s. My cum. GPA is pretty low, under 3.0, and I ended my last semester with a FMLA withdrawal, which is why I don't think I'm going to get in. I also had to repeat A&P1, which disqualifies me from most BSN programs. Counting only my second attempts, my GPA for the prerequisites listed is a 3.08. I do have a resume that involves work as a doula (hence my username) and also some health advocacy and whatnot so I'm hoping that and my test scores will be what stands out. If I don't get in I won't get disappointed, and my plan is to do my ADN, then my RN-BSN and then apply to Emory's Nurse Midwife Program! It would take a year longer that way, but might be cheaper to stay in state for the BSN so it wouldn't be the end of the world. I hope you get in, but I also hear that GSU and Kennesaw have great programs as well! Good luck!

Spartanburg Community College Acceptance
Hi Nurse17H! I also applied, and from reading the previous threads, I think last year people found out about two weeks after, but I don't know. I am also applying to Greenville Technical College and they said that they release decisions 8 weeks after the application closes. Did you apply anywhere else? Do you mind if I ask how many points you had? I had 46 points. I hope we hear soon!
