I'm new to blog, travel, and I'm in the middle of no where!!!!!!! Which means no nursing jobs. Can you hear me sighing???? So i'm looking at traveling. I've found 3 agencies with good reviews. I signed up with 5 but discovered 2 had super bad reviews, so i've been not so interested in them. I'm waiting to hear from 2 that had good reviews. Anyway, I have a license in a compact state. I won't say I'm not fearful of traveling cause you never know what your gonna get, and yes I've read thru some of your quotes lol. So....any advice? I've filled out there apps online, just waiting to hear back from the 2 with the good reviews. The 2 with bad reviews, nurse choice is bugging me to get stuff done. I think I'm going to go get my california license, which i hear takes awhile. My daughter lives there, so i thought being close to her would be nice so at least i would be close to family during my first venture out. The closest hospital where I'm at is a 10 bed corrupt hospital, so I have no options. And I am interested in traveling because its time for me to care about me. So....any advice?:)

Hi, I"m new to all of this, and just getting started with submitting as well to agencies. I'm also new to these forums:/ so bear with me if i do this wrong. So you don't submit any paperwork to them till they actually have an assignment for you? All those things she has listed? I wasn't sure about all that. Her question alone helped me a lot! Thank you soo much!!!! It kind of scary!!!

I need a study paycheck, but I also want to help people and enjoy people. My clinicals showed me that. I had an elderly gentleman that had so many problems and was bed ridden and depressed. They started having him see a "shrink". He never smiled. My second day, I was working with him, and I said something, and he smiled. That made it all worth it and made me realize this is the profession for me. Just to see him smile. And we talked. I don't like seeing people in pain, but if I can help in any little way, or bring a smile to there face, its worth it. And yes, the paycheck will be wonderful! LOL!

I have the Ackley book that some of them have mentioned here. I really like it because it also has NIC and NOC in it. I have the 6th edition and I know there is a 7th edition, but 6 seems to have everything the same. I really like it. We hand in care plans every week after clinicals. What amazes me is the floor I'm on doesn't use care plans like this. They have a sheet with lists and you just go thru and check stuff off. So I'm not quite sure how they actually do a plan of care. I can send you a sample of mine if you'd like. I'm not sure how to check my mail on here, but if you'd like, you can email me and I'll send it. Send me something on here and hopefully I'll get it. For something that sounds simple, its not that easy. So many technicalities. Good luck! Ann

I'm not sure when you first wrote this. Did you find the help you need? I have the Ackley orange book someone mentioned. I love it. It helps a lot. I have done a few care plans if you'd like to see them. It's hard at first. The floor I'm doing my clinicals on doesn't even do a full care plan. They have a paper they mark off. It's interesting how different it is from floor to floor. Good luck!
