Same here (Laureano) but for Wednesday. Looks like the first 2 weeks we are there until 6PM!! Did anyone check there Skills Lab times?? I wonder if its possible to switch a time slot to an earlier time??

How do you know which clinical day you are on and which skills lab to attend? Is it posted somewhere or our we still waiting for that info?

Anybody bought their books yet?? I have a question regarding one...Nursing Diagnosis by Carpenito- Are we supposed to buy the Handbook or the Large one?? The UTHSCSA bookstore says Nursing Diagnosis and @ L&M it says Handbook. Any thoughts??

Heard from a student we dont really need Mosby's Tour Guide to NS. Any idea where to get the ISBN# for the books?? The school bookstore doesnt list them online. I want to order mine online, but without the number there isnt an absolute certainty you are getting the right one!

AznPlaya, I think those shoes are good enough color-wise. I don't think it has to be entirely white. The only thing I would make sure is that they are solid leather, not breathable due to needle sticks, vomit, crap, etc. I have some new balance ones that are all leather and all white, although I dont think they are as comfortable as the shox.

I may have calculated it differently. I added everything up my own just totally only the used books and it came out to approx 900. So there must be some books out there that you HAVE to buy NEW unfortunately.

Ah yes, the books...If you go to the bookstore link off the student website you can find all the books required/reccommended for class. And it is long. Very very long, lol. I added the books (some are used for more than 1 class) and the amount came out to around $900!!! And that is for USED. LOL. I am going to start looking online or something.

Which Tuition/fees chart is everyone looking at?? From what I have read it would be approx 2500/semester? About right?

Rfs2886, I was told that they will be sending that information in the mail. So I am assuming they will send us the info soon. I guess it wouldnt hurt to try and get your ID and permit, but what I was told pretty much we have to wait. You never know, Im sure there will be something else we would need to do there involving driving to the campus. lol

Talk to the nurs dept...they said we will receive our clinical dates/lab times later on. Im guessing during our orientation or our instructors...also we have to wait to get more info from the Registrars office before we get our ID and Parking permit. So no need to get those things done just yet..

Does anybody know anything about the required training email you get in your email account?? Something from the Knowledge Center for your Web Orientation?

The clinical is TBA so I am guessing they will give us our clinical schedules later on. As far as the parking goes, I was told by a current student that we have to park off campus and take a shuttle bus our first semester.

Did everybody register yet? I was just wondering how it went. Kinda confusing with all the different websites, but I think I did. I never saw an option for online courses (which I wasnt interested in anyway).

Sorry Asian Plaaya, I am already locked into a lease at an apt with a friend of mine otherwise I'd be all for it. Anything to save a little. Good luck with the search. Some close apts off of Blanco near Wurzbach (which is a staight shot to take to school) are pretty nice if you don't want to live right next to campus. Also I heard that Fountainhead off of Medical are nice apts and they are close to the Med center. Yeah I have insurance through my work, so I am also hoping they will give us some more info on what we need to do about that.

I think the school registers everyone for class their first semester. At least that is what I heard.

Hey AZNPLR99(Asian playa 99), nice to see there is another guy in the club for 08. I'll be the tall white dude not knowing what is going on too...:chuckle As for the others wanting Accelerated, I did give up my spot in the accelerated so maybe there will be another opening...I'm going the 2yr route and working ptime.

Okay everyone, Here is something to answers MANY questions! Just talked with the registrars office.... First off, if you have a previous degree, those upper division courses do count toward the 9 hrs of electives. You only need 3 nursing hrs. for elective regardless of accelerated or generic. Secondly, I was told that for everyone registration does start in November, BUT we will not receive that info(such as log-in and steps to take) until our next packet. So basically we can still mail-in the immunization record if you want. Thirdly, the transcript evals are not up to date yet. So if you took courses in the summer, they will not show completed. They said they will resend the completed evals with the next packet. P.S. I have officially decided to go the generic route instead of the accelerated, so one of you may be getting an early Christmas present! HAHA

Thanks UTHSCSA Hopeful... Does anyone know the info on registration? I just read that the Immunization record needs to be turned in 30 days before registration and I think registration begins November 1st? Maybe that is for ongoing students??
