  1. That is wonderful to hear, thank you so much for all your input.
  2. Hi Scoope23, BSN, RN My name is Heather and I am planning on applying to the Nurse Corp Scholarship this application cycle. Do you have any tips or advice on the application process? Or do you know if it is worth applying even if my EFC is not zero? I have been accepted to an accelerated DNP program as a family nurse practitioner, and this scholarship would be so amazing. Thank you for your time, and congrats on receiving this excellent award.
  3. Hi Becky, Thank you so much for your response, very helpful to know. And I have one more question for you. So you chose the DNP over the MSN route in pursuit of a role as a ACNP if I read one of your above posts correctly. My question is so far, are you happy with your choice of the DNP route? I feel like there is such a mixed review on the question of MSN vs. the DNP. I definitely like the idea of the DNP for mobility within the field, and I think more knowledge in your chosen specialty is very important as well. I am on the FNP track, and I would love any input you have in that regard.
  4. Hi abliss, My name is Heather, and I have been admitted to the GEP FNP program at UMASS. I'm super excited/nervous for this experience. I'm from Cali, so I am not too familiar with East Coast living yet. I would love to hear how your experience has been so far, and how you like UMASS and Worcester overall? If you have any free time I would be happy to give you my email address! Thank you
  5. Hi Becky, I have a couple more questions for you. How many people are in your cohort, and do you all work together well and support one another through this rigorous program? Thank you for all you input, it's so helpful.
  6. It sounds like Zillow is a bit more pricey, and the UMASS housing website is a bit cheaper. I think looking around orientation time is a good call! Not too early, but early enough to get a good spot hopefully.
  7. That would be great, I will check out that link too. Are you looking to live closer to the UMASS campus? I think living close to where classes would be would add an important level of convenience as long as housing isn't too crazy expensive there.
  8. Hi Becky, Thank you for all your input on this forum, so helpful. My name is Heather and I have been accepted to the FNP track at UMASS. I was wondering if many students find housing together. I am from Northern California, and would love to find a way to connect with other students on housing. Did your cohort find housing together at all, or was it more on an individual basis. Thank you for all your advice.
  9. Hi BrickBradford, My name is Heather and I'm currently facing a tough decision between Yale GEPN vs. UMASS GEP for the family nurse practitioner track in each. How did you go about making your admissions decision? What factors were most important to you in your decision? Any input you have would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for posting on this forum.
  10. Hi Falco421, I am weighing the same decision as you are. I have been accepted to both UMASS GEP and Yale GEPN for the family nurse practitioner specialty. Both programs are my top two choices, how are you approaching the decision? I would love to email if that is easier? Both programs are strong, so it would be helpful to hear from someone who is in the same position.
  11. Hello Jake! My name is Heather, and I also have been accepted to both Yale GEPN and UMASS GEP for the FNP tracks. I am having an exciting/challenging time deciding between these two and Vanderbilt. I am from California, so I'm not too familiar with the east coast, but I am up for a new adventure. Since you both are a year ahead in my process, where did you ultimately decide and for what reasons? Any and all advice would be helpful! Thank you and congrats on your future.
